High key she's the best support because of her rez ult and the dedicated healing. A great Lucio is great, a zenyatta that understands he's a snipe healer and needs to hang back is great too but it's hard to top a dedicated heal bitch.

I swear to god Symmetra was much better like 4 or 5 betas ago. Idk what changed, maybe building ult meter was faster, maybe her turrets were better but shit definitely feels like the most useless character currently. You see a good Symmetra now and your first thought gotta be wow my team is garbage.

The teleport is great though

Mercy is a great healer but needs to be smart and get protection sometimes

Sucha  cool game last night, we were getting completely steamrolled for the first part, not getting anything in as the payload kept edging in towards our base (fair is fair we started with 4 Bastions for fun)

Then we got our shit together and changed heroes and pushed them back from meters away from the delivery point. Hnnngggg. I blocked like 15k damage on that last point.

Hanzo's ult? If he fires it into a tunnel maybe.... but its distinguished mentally-challenged easy to avoid.

Reaper can go invis which nullifies damage
Mei can go Ice which nullifies damage
Genji can actually deflect the ARROW back and make the dragon go the other way (but only before the dragon pops out)

Didn't read Mei's hero abilities obviously because last night I found out she could freaking shoot ice crystals....  :lol My game went from great wall of china to killing fools. Also if you jump onto enemies and use Mei's recharge it does damage if you land on someone. I don't like when you're on a control point and use her recharge that it doesn't count. Anyways I got several play of the games last night which was awesome.

I can't wait  for this to release. We should get some games going on!

It's super easy all you're doing is holding the right trigger constantly. I don't like that they put mercy's offensive  weapon on the d-pad so I moved it to my paddles (elite controller) and now she actually stands a chance in combat.

I played as D.VA throughout the beta this weekend because I enjoy being able to hold the fire button and shoot forever. Plus having the second chance to respawn my mech is always fun.

It's fun to boost my way into a group of people and trigger my self destruct, the AOE is pretty big so I've managed to get several triple kills out of it.

So I guess my audio issue with the game is a bug in this build. Got a response from blizzard about it and they are looking into it. YAY!

yeah D.VA's AOE is insane, but I think Hanzo's is worse due to my audio issue. I can't even hear his ult going off, nor reapers. I'm sure they'll fix things as time goes on, what's here already is a great fucking game and that's what's so exciting.

Yeah this is basically Mei's whole meta. Freeze dudes then run up and shoot icicle into their face.

and yeah d.va nuke blast needs some tweaking.

It's very easy. Plus you can reconfigure the controls for each character to whatever buttons you want. The game honestly feels great on console.

Finished up the beta in the 40's. That's the most fun I've had in a mp shooter in years. So many things to like. I started to fall in love with RoadHog at the end there.

Normally I have a lot of suggestions about what to improve and adjust but I have a little of that here partly because I think what makes the game so much fun is how unique and powerful all the characters are. Normally I'm a fan of nerfs but you have to be careful here because nerfing things here take away some of the fun of these characters. My only true thought is that bastion should be nerfed somewhat. Not because I necessarily think he is crazy op. But because he is so easy. I wouldn't mind him being so powerful if there was more skill involved about how you play him but I don't like that's he pretty powerful and easy which means he gets overplayed because so many scrubs use him. Yes he can be countered. But I don't think the average player should have to work that hard to counter some one who isn't very skillful.

The rest of the stuff I'm legit fine with. I would even buff a few characters like Symmetra and Zenyatta.

That mode where it randomizes your hero after every death is really fun.

Console gameplay from last night.

Bastion players quickly figured out that if you put your back to the wall while in sentry mode, the only way people can take you out is with an ult as the weak point is on his back. If I were blizz, I'd just make Sentry mode a gamble. Take 1.5 damage instead of regular damage if in sentry mode with all hitboxes, not just the back. Same with his tank ult.  Also Symmetra can be secret MVP but the teleports being her ult is dumb. She needs them as a secondary and a damage dealing ult or a healing ult.

Game's fun as fuck but waaaaaaay too unbalanced as is. Ran against a team that was just Reaper, 76, Genji, Widowmaker and Bastion twice last night and got creamed in payload even though we were playing well and winning till the last few moments when the ult "Fuck you" train arrived and they were able to push :goty

Bastion players quickly figured out that if you put your back to the wall while in sentry mode,

You can kill them, but you have to sneak up on them. A good Reaper popping around will totally wreck a Bastion that isn't paying attention. The major problem with Bastion is his damage output along with long-range of sight firing.

Edit: Zenyatta defo needs a buff or a slight design change to where his orb doesn't disappear on death for like 2-3 seconds to allow hit and runs to actually have an effect.

And because its new it doesn't have to carry on the legacy warts and ruts that other franchises get stuck in.

"High Noon"?
More like
"High No-arghyujgyyj" said the glowing man

Seriously, some of these Ults are nigh useless with how they are choreographed to everyone.
D.Va?
"NERF THIS" heard everyone, wow that glowing orb, wow the danger sign that pops up for everyone.

Hide behind literally anything or just hit shield and voila.

I can basically hardcounter all those ultimates with German Engineering at all times with one press. Saving my entire team easily.

Re: Overwatch - new blizzard ip
« Reply #211 on: May 11, 2016, 11:14:54 AM »
With McCree's ult, you can boost it with Mercy's damage amp or Zenyatta's discord orb to fire sooner.

D.Va's ult is a little difficult to use effectively. Rarely does it even clear a point effectively because of all the geometry for players to hide behind, so you have to combo it with a Mei ult to get everyone to stand still and disable Reinhart's shielding. It does however give your team a moment of opportunity to shoot people in the back as they run away, and it's pretty good for restoring max health at a moment's notice.

It feels almost nothing like Battleborn to be honest. Battleborn is receiving a lot of hate and I'm not one of those guys who hates it personally. I think its kind of interesting. But its not as polished as Overwatch. It's also not as immediately accessible as overwatch.

Battleborn falls a lot more on the moba side of the fence. The characters have more life. There are creeps in the game. You level up your character during a match (not as in depth as lol or dota) but there is still that element of progression and needing to keep up and not get out leveled.

Overwatch is much more of a true shooter. The only moba element is that the characters are class based and your abilities are on cooldown.

Battleborn will have a much harder time maintaining an audience both because its competing against real moba's and its not as immediately satisfying to play.

The fact that its 30 frame on consoles also doesn't help it. If I had to pick one its not even close. Overwatch by a mile.

As usual we don't care if you like the game or not. What's a bit obnoxious is to live and post all the time in a thread for a game a person claims to not like. I don't like Dark Souls. I have lots of reasons for not liking Dark Souls. I don't post in the Dark Souls threads here on the bore because:

A.) I know lots of people like the game here.
B.) In a thread like that they don't want to hear somebody constantly carp about the game.
C.) I can respect that people have strongly different opinions than mine so I don't have to make it my agenda to shit on the game 24/7.

There is intelligent critical posting and shit posting and you often delve into the latter.

Metacritic prediction: 90

I'd rather not say how I'd personally rate the game based on my experience.
For a forum based on making fun of gaffers losing their shit over criticism of their favorites games you guys aren't much better...
(Image removed from quote.)
You shouldn't feel any need to defend your opinions, but neither should you feel free to passive aggressively shit-fling at others for theirs. It's a dishonest form of communication. You owe it to yourself to be better.
