It got delayed until next year sometime, probably at least partly to coincide with the new movie.

see, i need that weak despot storyline to keep me engaged. just cause 1 was so bad it turned me off from playing 2 much. trailer looks cool.

I really need to replay JC2 cause in my mind/memory/nostalgia the graphics still look like that and look better than every other open world game on the market. Trailers for this don't really grab me because it just looks like more of the same.

Yeah I kind of feel that way also. I remember JC 2 looking mostly like that not that it matters.

I regularly play JC2 as a sort of mindless, relaxing game and while it's not a drastic leap the destruction and stuff you can do do look better. and my view is a little skewed because I play with mods to add strong and multiple grapples, which are standard here but weren't in JC2. I think using the new consoles to add those things over making a prettier JC2 is worth it.

it'll be strange to play this without superman flying, though. I hope they aren't blocking mods for this.

Actually, looking at a video of JC2 maxed on a PC, the flying around stuff/falling still looks excellent (and I can't imagine JC3 looking much better in that respect), but the on-foot/cities look pretty dated so I can see where this is a big improvement on the ground level.

Texture resolution will hit you in the face like a brick. The geometry isn't as detailed either. But it runs great and the scale is fantastic. All seamsless, too. edit: Yup, the video show it off pretty well.

Not just that, but also both are Open World Games, so it seems like there would be a lot of overlap in the potential buyers.

Eh, these days half the action games are open-world. Don't really think they compete anymore than just having two action games does. Plus these will probably be spaced apart by some months.

Also playing GTAV and enjoying it a good deal and then watching that JC2 video, yeah Just Cause is way more fun and I'll be playing JC3. I like GTAV but the whole "realism > fun" thing really just makes it less enjoyable in a moment to moment action sense like stuff like Just Cause where you're smoothly jumping from car to car and flying at high speed and parachuting and landing on a plane etc.....; GTAV is fun in the awe-inspiring immersion sense of hanging out in a really fleshed out living world; I'd even say GTAV is more of a sim game while JC and Saints Row are action games.
