New Order was a way better band than Joy Division
U2 is not actually the great Satan of music and were quite good for a bit of time, Achtung Baby was actually rather good (since then though....)
If Kurt Cobain hadn't committed suicide no one would talk about Nirvana anymore
Rap mostly died with Tupcac and has largely devolved into "I got more bitches/money/houses/etc" than you pissing matches

Rap died with 2pac and has not evolved past the 90's era. All Eyez On Me was the height of rap, and the genre has only seen a downward trajectory since. It peaked in 96, and has yet to be topped. It is the most stagnant genre on the radio next to country but fortunately, it's on the come up with the new class.

American rock pales to UK rock.

Electronic is the best genre going right now.

The only good Soundgarden song is Black Hole Sun.

Grunge sucks.

Black Album (Metallica) is a fantastic album.

Nah, no need to catch feelings over crappy aughts rock.

At least they're not Muse, terrible band that one is.

The Colour and the Shape was released in 97.

For that matter. Muse > Nirvana. Hullabaloo > Unplugged

Guru would be somewhere rapping for change if he didn't link up with Premier.

The same goes for Bone Thugs N Harmony and DJ Uneek.

Dilla was nowhere near anyone's top 5 until he died and still doesn't need to be there.

The last truly dope Nas album was Stillmatic.

Tupac was never that great outside of Me Against The World.

Dilla was pretty popular before he died. Let's not change history. Then again, as a Common fan, I was always fond of him. I remember people - including myself - being disappointed Kanye was producing so much of Be.

FlyLo's You're Dead was a scatter shot album of random ideas and no central theme nor cohesion. 2 minute long songs and pretty sounding song bridges does not a good album make.

Kendrick Lamar is the most overrated of the new rap class. J Cole is better. I like Wale more too.

Among rappers sure, but I swear none of these "fans" really held dude in that high of a regard when he was alive. I've seen some outlandish shit brehette, like Dilla's rapping changing how somebody views MCs  :what

- New Order is so much better than Joy Division
- "Paul's Boutique" isn't the best album by the Beastie Boys (that honor goes to "Check Your Head")
- Big Sean is actually decent
- The only three Kanye albums worth listening to are College Dropout, Late Registration, and Yeezus
- There hasn't been a decent alternative/rock/indie/whatever album in half a decade
- People who just judge people for listening to "mainstream music" are scust
- Aphex Twin and Flying Lotus released two albums this year that should had been so much more
- Most of Jay Z's albums are better than Nas's best albums, but the albums by Nas haven't dropped as low as "MCHG" or "Kingdom Come"
- The Chronic 2001 > The Chronic
- Rick Ross is solid

Let's keep dropping bombs.

A lot of Jazz is musical masturbation. The performer is the only one that really enjoys it. A lot of other people like to act that they know what's going on but they have no clue but don't want to let everyone else know they don't know what's going on.  #notalljazz (but a lot of it)

The first two Linkin Park albums are great. As is Limp Bizkit's second album "Significant Other" and like half of of Korn's discography (Up to like "Take a Look in the Mirror" minus maybe "Untouchables").

John Bush era Anthrax had a Pantera-y Grungeish feel to them, their last couple were a not-quite-nu-metal but not-quite-thrash-anymore in a changing hard rock landscape. Super derivative music but when they were on they could hit the right notes

And you're defending Nirvana.

There's defending, and then there's shitting on Foo Fighters and Muse. Which if you know me you knew you'd have seen me express that very opinion before. Nirvana isn't even one of my favorite bands. But they made music I enjoyed, and suddenly deciding the weakest and most underwhelming rock bands of that era are better by virtue of your nostalgia for the period it came out.

98-07 is by far the worst period for any kind of mainstream music with few exceptions here and there. That's not controversial, that's straight up facts.
