I am not doing this again. Last time we opted for Chinese, I figured it would be impossible to get a seat, so I called ahead for take out. It took me like 30 minutes to get from the doorway to the counter...which is literally two steps away from the door. Then another 20 minutes to pay for my food and leave. The place had no waiters and it appeared that the owner's kids were doing that job instead.

Plan to pick something up today instead. There's a place that sells high quality pre-made foods I want to hit up, but with my luck, they'll be closed. $:-\$ If that's the case, will make my own Vietnamese-style pork rice paper rolls.

I usually go with eating at the restaurant cause there's something special to me about hanging out with a bunch of Jews on Xmas. I guess it feels nostalgic in a way.

Aside from family obligations this is p much the joy of christmas for adults. No work, just being a lazy fuck and enjoying guilt-free indulgence in unhealthy food and booze.

Kinda sorta. It's the Amazon store, which picks and chooses certain apps from the Google Play store to promote and distribute. You cannot use the full-on Google Play store on the Kindle devices without some trickery.

We hosted my mom's side of the family last night at our house. My Dad and I got a bunch of growlers and are known as the "beer people" in the family. My garage is basically a beer cellar. My uncle kept trying to sneak his 18-year son beer all night long. I finally pulled him aside and told him "I'd really appreciate it if you didn't give ____ beer. I know he's in college and is probably drinking regularly, but this is my house and I'd rather not be supplying a minor with alcohol." He was pretty caught off guard and said "Oh, he's not driving." I don't care. Just because I'm a huge beer nerd doesn't mean I support underage drinking. Sheeeeiit.

Other than that, everyone had a great time.

My parents stayed here last night and are doing Christmas day with my wife, daughter and I. Eggs benedict and coffee this morning, gonna watch Fantastic Mr. Fox with the kiddo and then The Interview after she goes to bed. Lots of beer and etoufee for dinner tonight.
