Uh, the PS4 version is a jaggy mess from what I've seen. PS4 version with proper AA would've been worth the wait if it was the same game + standard AA/AF PC improvements.

There is no AA, but "jaggy mess" is not how I would describe the game. I don't understand why you haven't already downloaded the F2P Core Fighters and checked things for yourself.

PS4 has extra effects, detail, and two extra stages over the PC version. Plus online play that we know is actually good. I'm also wondering if this means that the PC version won't get all the content that PS4/Xboner are getting...they said before that some stuff will be "next-gen" only.

Koei-Tecmo needs to get their shit together and improve their PC games.

Steam doesn't require an online-play fee. The PC version could've easily been the PS420 version by using the x86 code that the "next-gen" consoles have and didn't need to be an Arcade port from (forgetting, x86 as well?) the Ultimate Arcade release.

It's just Tecmo being "lazy" and quick with their port by trying to make it "less demanding" on performance or whatever while backfiring because the port from Arcade seems (to them) to be just as demanding as the next-gen releases)

The PC version could've been "definitive" with 1) free online play and 2) being the same as the next-gen consoles, but Tecmo screwed it. Hard.

Ok, tried out the free PS4 version and yeah, you guys are right, the AA isn't an issue in-game. Was going from the screenshot thread on gaf where all the pictures were really jaggy on PS4. Looks nice enough in motion though not a fan of 30fps intros/outros. Will pick up the PS4 version when it's down to $20 in a sale and skip the PC version.

Also not having played DoA since DoA4 at X360 launch...forgot how slow DoA is compared to VF. Gonna be weird maining Akira in this.

Looks pretty good, but this is clearly the "last-gen" version running at a higher resolution. Forget the skin-shading; those missing spark effects when you slam somebody into a wall really make it look like something is missing. But you can bump up the res higher than 1080P and AA is available.

It's pulling 60fps on my X1 Carbon at 720p. Not too bad. I can't configure the buttons on the keyboard though (don't have a controller to use it with ATM)

Tried it out for a minute. I need to try bumping up the AA and shadow resolutions; it runs perfectly at 1080P for me. Load times are noticeably quicker than the console versions and the sound quality seems better, too. The AA effect makes for an insanely clean picture. The game actually looks like those old Tecmo bullshots now.

But the missing PS4/Xboner effects are noticeable and without online play, this is pretty much gonna sit unplayed until whenever they get that added.
