There was years of Lucasarts not making a sequel before they couldn't anymore.
Gladius was from the last wave from when Lucasarts was actually trying. Watching the slow, self-inflicted spiral of Lucasarts was endlessly painful. Like watching a videogame company with Alzheimers, they forgot how to do things they were really good at (adventures), they stopped doing anything new (IP), and eventually they even stopped doing basic sorts of brush-your-teeth kinda things (Star Wars).
and just when they were starting to show some mild signs of life again, the plug gets pulled and Grandpa goes back to rubber pants. Lucasarts depresses me.
