I think they waited too long to develop the kind of cultivated ecosystem they're hinting at (aside from making games/apps for currently existing markets). Everyone's kind of already locked down to whatever app markets service their chosen device, and probably aren't shopping around to hop to a whole new system and leave all their paid shit behind. If they start talking about a new system next year, the earliest it's coming is holiday 2016, which is nearly two years away. That's pretty much an entire generation when it comes to tablets and mobile devices. They keep denying they're developing some sort of mobile/tablet/console hybrid, but I'd put down a decent bet that's exactly what it is. Too late. Tablets are already moving in the other direction, towards larger form factors for more productivity-oriented markets. I keep reading rumors that Apple's about to shitcan the Mini after this year. Cheap tablets already claimed that half of the market.
Best news is the unified account system, but you know that's probably gonna end up being a clusterfuck right off the bat, with no one being able to transfer over games they've already purchased under the old hardware lock.
