You start with some fries to kick things off. Then alternate between the sandwich and fries until both are gone, ideally at the same time. There's no better way.

Hot fries are tastier and easier to eat than the burger.

If I don't finish the burger because I ate the fries first I feel skinnier.

Burgers stay warmer longer and don't taste as bad as lukewarm fries do.

Really needs to be more points on the spectrum. I voted fries first because that's how I do, but I almost never finish all the fries before the burger. Depending on the portion I start with them and probably eat 1/2 to 2/3 of them, after that it's a free-for-all.

Bag fries :drool

I usually eat a fry or two when the dish is first served, gotta taste that hot grease, but then it's all burger until it's gone -- fries are ultimately filler. I'm here for beef.

I keep eating until the fries stop being really hot.

Ain't gonna lie, day old McDonald's fries is a guilty pleasure. Take it out of the fridge, microwave that sumbitch then go to town.

Let's just assume that free for all includes variants where the distribution is more or less even, and the other categories include eating the majority of one item and not just all of it.

Step 1 - Take a bite of the burger and begin chewing
Step 2 - Grab a fistful of fries and dip them in your condiment of choice
Step 3 - Swallow the burger bite
Step 4 - Cram the fries in your mouth and begin chewing
Step 5 - Swallow the fries
Step 6 - See Step 1

I begin with the fries, but only eat them midway, then switch to the burger and eat the burger together with the fries. Dunno why, but I never started with the burger and then switched to the fries.

I eat a good 80% of my burger, then switch to fries. Once they're done I finish my burger because I want the best part of the meal to be the last thing I taste.

The secret must be the questionable health code practices of using the same oil for 2 weeks at a time. (also, always being shit-faced when I goto places like that)

Battered onion rings > breaded onion rings

I agree, but I had a sort of hybrid that was battered but still retained the crispiness of a breaded onion ring, it was so on point man. If you ever find yourself in Cincy, the rings at Moerlein Lager House are the best I've had in the city:
