Where you grind to grind to grind to grind.
So much grind that they even have a religion ingame.
You pay to the void so that you may be rewarded.

Is this a general F2P thread or some shit?

How in-depth is the character creation? Can I smoke cigarettes while wheeling around an oxygen tank? How morbidly obese can you be? Is there a limit on the amount of neck tattoos you can have?

Okay, it looks like you can choose between a variety of young, attractive people or an Old Black Man.

I played some #struggle slots, lost all my money, and they gave me a free leprechaun hat. So far, so good.

DUST 514 and Path of Exile. Microsoft Excel is mai waifu / husbando.

514 has me sinking further and further into depravity, I think I've spent three figures on it in less than a month. :brazilcry

I'm trying to kick Wowframe but sometimes you just want to be a space ninja and fuck shit up you know? Game feels like a lot of wasted potential sometimes.

I'm still playing and enjoying Defiance and World of Tanks on 360 pretty much daily. I unequivocally love WoT, but Defiance I'm still kind of iffy on, mainly due to a fucking bazillion currencies which I don't fully understand despite playing for upwards of a hundred hours.

What I need is a way to import my funds from AdVenture Capitalist. Ideally through some shady embezzlement of my corporations.

And also throw money around like an asshole and treat both the dealers and wait staff like shit while demanding everything be comped because I'M A GOLD CLUB MEMBER of which anyone can sign up for.

And be like that guy who rolled into a casino I was at with his posse, threw $600 on the craps table in a way that made sure everybody saw, immediately bet on a person hitting 11 again that roll and then said "fuck this fucking table is bullshit" and moved to another. (While one of the guys he was with looked embarrassed.)

Is Defiance that MMO that was also A SyFy show?  I liked the show, but I figured the MMO has been cancelled ages ago. I've kind of wanted to try it out.

Yes, that's the one. The MMO had a rocky launch, but seems to have a decent number of players on 360. The show enters its 3rd season this month.

Path of Exile has been keeping up a good face, gratingly overused enemy types notwithstanding. :tophat

I said in the RPG class preference thread that the flavor of the game has a just dreadful "I played too much Diablo 2" vibe and I was really afraid that the mechanics of the game were going to be the same way as like any Blizzard product I loathe Diablo games but really it's just Torchlight with DARK AND GRITTY aesthetics instead of Torchlight's FUCK IT DUDE, STEAMPUNK in a much more constrained world, which I can understand since it's hella F2P.

Hit detection feels a little off sometimes, but maybe that's just microlag?

The hit detection is either low accuracy (though spells always hit), or desync. The latter issue is about to be resolved with the next big update (July, I think). MOBA and RTS style lockstep sync is already rolled out in the (semi-)closed beta, which will eliminate that issue entirely.

Good! Avoid it!

If you played either Borderlands FPS, you already played a better version of it.

I'm actually considering uninstalling it, in the hopes of getting through my backlog instead of grinding something endlessly.

It "released" on Steam on March 26th. Though it was in open beta for over a year.

They were promoting the shit out of it in April. DC actually was doing a digital comic for the last like year or two to promote its launch. No wonder that suddenly disappeared.

It's from Turbine (D&DO, LOTRO) btw.

Apparently there was only one map available for public matches if you didn't buy anything.  :lol

Brehs, I played that game in its early beta. The struggle was never any more real--it didn't even have the traditional MOBA map for a long time. I'm more surprised that it lasted than how quickly it died.

I wonder if Strife is still kicking...

As someone who has always kinda liked the idea of moba's but never really got into one I'm really digging HotS. They removed the item shit was a big part of why I never got into them. It's all talents nows. Another big difference is there feels like there is way more prioritiy placed on PvP and group fighting. You only seriously lane in this for about 2 minutes in on average 15-20 minute matches. Once objectives pop the goal kinda becomes about getting them and out killing enemy players.

Feels faster. These matches don't drag.

F2P shame story.

In Dust 401(k) there's a ranking called your loyalty ranking. It's mostly hidden and doesn't really factor into your day to day playing but grants some bonuses to it with level ups.

Awhile back they introduced direct player to player trading. To not disrupt the game on a massive scale, it's been controlled. Only the most elite items and some real money items have been tradable at first, for example. The biggest control on the trading however was requiring that players be loyalty rank 4 to trade.

Players haaaaaaaaated this because it's apparently hard to grind to loyalty rank 4 without buying the game's real money currency. There was so much backlash that they actually lowered the requirement to loyalty rank 2.

Me? My character is less than 2 months old and I'm already close to loyalty rank 7. :brazilcry :stahp

I would consider purchasing likes for the in-game currency ISK as well as the real money currency AUR, but only because I have 22 million ISK and nothing to spend it on.
