that's the other thing.  there isn't anything else for 2015.  and in fairness, microsoft had nothing for the first half of 2015, all stacked for fall.  closest to "new" games are god of war and uncharted remasters.

Yup, when you break it down, the only hand they're playing for the rest of 2015 is the exclusive DLC's and Betas (lol) for third party games.

The dust will settle and kids will realize Shenmue 3 won't be out before 2017. And with SE's terrible project scheduling, FFVII will be released possibly after that. TLG is a vague 2016 release. But you know Ueda will fuck it up and push it to 2017.

The backwards compatibility seems pretty shitty with how they are implementing it... so you put in your 360 game and then that downloads the game to your HD? Why not just run the game off the original DVD?

FF7 Remake isn't coming until late 2017/2018, that's coming to PC (I think?). Shenmue 3 isn't coming until next year at the earliest, also on PC.

These announcements were more exciting in a "I can't believe this, ppl are gonna flip out" way than a "FINALLY, I've been waiting so long" way for me. Like these will probably good and I'll play them, but I have no personal investment in any of these three games. I wasn't waiting for them, I just spent a lot of internet time with a lot of people that did.

I can't even think of a nostalgia game that would excite me like that. Most of the games I loved as a kid are either ongoing, don't need to be brought back, or were brought back and were just ok/sucked. SFIV and MK9 are like the only exceptions (maybe Sonic Generations too).

No, he's kinda right. Valve has DOTA2/CS:GO/TF2 cosmetics that sell. Why do they need to make Half-Life 3? Outside of appeasing some old-school fans, there's nothing for them there. They can make another multiplayer game while ignoring HL3 and make bank so long as the item economy takes off.

Plus Steam's membership is expanding all the while. That $5 charge to become a "full member" with no restrictions as an anti-bot measure also means they're making $5 per account if not more during Steam sales.
