I don't know how you could do this since Witcher 3 shits on Dragon Age Inquisition.
Inquisition is possibly one of the worst wrpgs I've played which isn't saying much since I obviously prefer JRPGS. I don't mind linear narratives with some actual structure to them. Which is why I find the game to be garbage. See, I like the Wicther series. They actually have structure and pacing, which keeps them from feeling overwhelming. Even big ass open games like Skyrim which I do find overwhelming by how many quests it throws at you at least compartmentalizes things.
IN the Witcher 2 you go from area to area. You stay in that area until you complete the main quest of that area all while doing a few non lazily designed side quests. There's actual pacing and since of routine and structure. Sure, Witcher 3 becomes far more open but there's always a since of direction with the questing. Dragon Age I did not have any of this. Too me it felt like it was always constantly throwing all this shit and systems at me without me ever knowing what I was doing. It didn't at all feel natural. In the Witcher 3 which I haven't beat you start in an Epilogue that's closed off, you then go to the countryside of Novigard which then slowly moves you into quests in Novigard. Sure you can go off and do whatever the fuck you want and find things far beyond your level, but the game actually still guides you. It actually feels like some sort of focus. Inquisition feels like a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow, constantly jumping around to the point that I don't understand where the story is or where I got there. Event's just seem to happen. The game has no pacing.
The level design of something like the Wicther 3 feels better. Quite honestly, the areas feel like actual places. Not just big sandbox places made big for the sake of it yet filled with barriers. There's actual cohesion and thought to make places feel like a thought out world. In Inquisition they feel like video game zones.
Now it's not like Witcher 3 has the best combat, but at least it's not like dull and feels like I'm actually doing shit. The feedback and slashing action in Dragon Age is like drinking diet coke, it taste like air with no punch. Stupid comparison? Maybe, but I think it works. It just feels like shit, I don't know how to explain it. Most encouters seemed to have always played out the same and the AI seems idiotic so the most tactical thing I did was tell people who are supposed to be range to stay well ranged...But since the game is supposed to be a bit more action based the actual action part always felt so lifeless and like I wasn't in control. The game wanted to present itself as an action rpg, but seemed like it was scared to actually be one.
Quests in Dragon Age are shitty. They are not in the Witcher 3. There's nothing more to be said.
The Witcher 3 is a better game.
