mid 00s funimation was the worst with this
They used the same 4 or 5 vas for every show they licensed. Vegeta, Goku and trunks appearing in everything.

The good VA's make it so you can't tell (unless it's a similar type of role.)

The seiyuu industry does the same shit too. You have any idea how many roles Mamoru Miyano has had? :expert

Most Gaffers have that aura for tons of subjects revolving around business.

For example:
"Nintendo just needs to make a console as powerful as what Sony and Microsoft put out. Consumers and third parties would flock to Nintendo then!"

A very common sentiment amongst gaming side.

Congrats, that decision would probably cause Nintendo to lose boatloads of money. I know I just lambasted a business idea with almost no business experience, but I know that I don't know shit. Anyone with half a brain knows Nintendo's problems are a lot more complicated than "they make weak consoles."

Unless it's a handheld (and even then only JP devs such as SQEX and Capcom) 3rd parties will never come back to Nintendo home consoles. Nintendo can make a machine that would make Ken blush, but they will never get back the Ubis and the EAs of the world

My favourite argument is that the data Netflix is basing their decision on is old episodes and therefore not accurate.

Yeah, the analysts at massive tech company Netflix didn't account for that.  :beli

It's always a difficult component of those discussions, because as you say we probably overrate the competence of the companies there and anyway no level of expertise can prevent industrial trainwrecks (The Nintendo example is a good one for that). Nevertheless, random guy on a message board in 99,5% of any discussion of this type will speak from a inferior position, information-wise. I also think it works both ways as the people lambasting Netflix or company X or A for a decision often exhibits the same black & white vision of the business world where companies are often granted way more agency that they probably have.

The only "evidence" that people have that this is a bad move for Netflix are some random articles talking about how popular Top Gear is, as if Netflix isn't already aware of those articles [and of far more in-depth information than that]. Not saying that Netflix is right necessarily, but that their decision is based on actual evidence and research.

Yeah, I definitely didn't mean to imply that you should put stock in the business analysis proffered by GAFers, only that what you perceive of large companies is worth your skepticism as well as your belief.

I've fallen into this category & I absolutely hate that. I've been looking forward to the finally of this game for years & I feel so let down.

I can't believe this is it. I can't believe this is what I've been waiting for all these years. I'm... disappointed. The gameplay is superb, best in the series even. But it required a big sacrifice.

This game. It's not... It's not a Metal Gear Solid game. This might sound a little extreme. Yes, it still has funny tapes. It still has funny gameplay mechanics. But it lost the most important part of Metal Gear, to me. It lost its personality. The game is too serious for its own good. I guess some people will be fine with this as the franchise has always been way very tongue-in-cheek, but that's what I liked so much about it.

Also, people on GAF will post how they, totally out of the blue, met the dream partner of their life. But if you want a honest and personal opinion, if you really go that way while having a penis, you will end up being a 31 years old guy with a 45 years old mother of two children (not yours). The wait and see approach only works for guys if they are into overweight older women (I don't want to call them milfs, because I would not like to fuck them). If that is the case for you, your life will be beautiful.

The funniest and most fucked thing is the diehard MGS4 fans are the ones crying the most and saying how Kojima is a hack. People that genuinely love and have probably watched 8 hours of MGS4 cutscenes multiple times, THIS is the breaking point, this is when they're dissatisfied with the franchise.

Some of these people also bitch and moan over Metal Gear Rising, which has more storytelling/cutscenes for its runtime when compared to MGSV.

I'd say having an imagination and letting your brain make shit up in that game world is fun and makes sense. Hell, that's how you'd have to play games on the PS1/SNES/anything before the PS2 era of consoles. I imagined what Cloud really looked like while playing FF7, I never thought he was really a purple polygon dude.

Imaginations can turn sour though. Like dudes that create Sims families that are anime characters.
