As a lover of beer myself, I tend to relate more to the pro-drinking crowd than the anti-drinking. However, I can empathize with some that don't like to drink. Every group dynamic is different, but I imagine that it has to be difficult for people that don't like to drink if they find themselves surrounded by a crowd that thinks every situation calls for copious consumption of alcoholic beverages. But I do tend to roll my eyes at people who simultaneously look down on drinking while also admitting that they've never or barely ever tried it. Like if your position is "I tried a beer once and it tasted terrible. I feel pity for the people who delude themselves into liking it because they need to abuse alcohol to have a good time," then yeah, you're an asshole. But if it's just "I don't really like drinking and wish that my group of friends/family could branch out and do more things that don't focus on drinking," then I think that's fair. I can understand some resentment in those people if it seems like that's all anyone ever wants to do.
