Corporations think if they pay you for 2 weeks it reduces your chances of coming back and causing harm. This is also why most people are fired on fridays and right before holidays fyi.

I think most of the people digging up her past are trying to win some sort of victory against the people who were angrily claiming that she did nothing to deserve being fired from Nintendo.
