The thing that always gets me with GAF, is the total OUTRAGE a person that makes a contentious (to the status quo) post will face, even if they've shown to be a mostly reasonable, stand up fella in the past. And the ban-happy mods are even bigger cretins in all of this.

Painting your skin for a costume is dumb, but it is not inherently offensive or wrong. Nor does every case deserve to be compared to actual blackface, ie exaggerated stereotypes and racism used to insult black people. Dressing up as Kanye doesn't insult black people or advance odious stereotypes.
