The thing is the discussion was never limited to Uncharted (despite what the fanboys seem to believe), it just happen that Uncharted was a good study case. It's actually a sort of compliment in that it aknowledges Naughty Dog had good enough characterization for the ludonarrative dissonance to be jarring.
The fact we can still sustain suspension of disbelief for totally absurd levels of violence or that games have often a hard time with consistency between its interactive and non interactive parts because of that is a feature of many games.
EDIT : Actually I don't think "Why John McClane doesn't have the AIDS of PTSD" is a totally worthless musing, if only to just remind oneself of the gulf between fiction and reality (and seeing how many times "self defense" is mentioned in that thread...). Honestly as I grew older, I find myself with less and less interest for ridiculous bodycounts, especially if the creators don't seem to be a little bit self aware.
EDIT02 :
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=185148419&postcount=183Don't overthink the protagonist motivation, but justify mowing down mooks because of a made up wage structure.
