I've never really had a problem with spoilers for movies when I get them, I always like to focus on the execution more than just being surprised by some "WOAH WE WENT THERE" that's not really that shocking I guess.
Even for TV shows, if I know what happens at the end of the season, I still like to see how the journey gets there. Like the reveal of Moriarty on Elementary, you knew it was coming at some point anyway, and as soon as they started to setup for the twist it became kinda obvious but it was well executed and that's what was enjoyable. Same for Mr. Robot, you knew what the big twist was going to be, it was all the tiny ones and specific scenes that made the adventure to there crazy.
My recent favorite was Into Darkness' big moment where the thrilling music comes in and builds to him saying "My name is Khan!" Like the characters are even supposed to know who that is, or people who've never seen Star Trek are supposed to know why that's a big deal, while everyone else already knew it was Khan for like a year.
But J.J. is obsessed with that whole "mystery box" concept, and so was Orci I think.
