VR is about 10 years away from prime time. I think all of the R&D invested in the tech now will be critical to making it accessible to the public next decade so it wasn't a total loss, even if all of the VR firms go tits up.

I had a pair of Virtual io glasses in 1995. It offered a lot of the same features of today's VR glasses including making you sick, closing you from the outside world, and being too expensive for a novelty.

Reading those VR threads, it's pretty impressive how deep the whole loss leader myth is entrenched, way deeper than even the whole Blue Ocean of Nthings

I know it's legit and running a company is often a matter of knowing when to take a hit, but seeing it brandished at all times has an absurd comedic tone to it. The surefire way to lose less money is losing more money.
