I quit but it wasn't a big deal for me. I never got addicted to them, so I realize I come from an area most smokers or former smokers were never at.
That said, I sometimes still miss it.
Nothing makes me miss smoking than a cold winter night.
Stepping outside and being by yourself or with fellow smoker company. You can be social or deep in thought alone.
I admit I love the actual act of smoking. Lighting it up, holding it all cool...
I miss coffee and cigs in the morning while I read news.
But those moments are few and far between. When you quit, it's important to not be tempted. Think of the good memories, but don't try to replicate them. Just hold them in your heart. I'd say try to take up e-cigs instead. If I still smoked, they'd be what I would smoke. So if you try to go back after going cold turkey, try those out before going back to regular cigarettes.
I can't offer much advice because, again, I was never really addicted. But know that you've got support.
