When you meet the Onion Knight guy and he's talking about the fire beast down below, I didn't think simply going down there would trigger the mini-boss fight!

Luckily the knight was tanky as all hell and I just barely managed to kill the thing.

I used the soul of the rotten tree boss to make a great sword. Can I not infuse boss weapons with elements?

Elemental weapons are kinda junk in this game anyway. They're not OP like lightning weapons in DaS

Just beat it with the lamest possible ending. I should've read up more on how to get the best one, but I didn't want to spoil myself. Guess I'll do an NG+ run.

The "best" ending basically requires you read a Wiki.  There's no fucking way a normal person would figure that shit out on their own.

Just looked it up. I can't believe healing the Dark Sigil is so expensive, and all it does it prevent you from seeing the "best" ending. I assumed I was doing something good since it was so expensive. Oh well. I'll get it in NG+.

DaS = Des > Das 3 > BB > Das2 IMO

Interested to see what we get next. I think it's safe to assume we'll see a BB2 in the near future while they work on whatever comes next.

I'd be surprised if a sequel or spiritual sequel to BB wasn't currently in development, at least by the B team.

Wouldn't it be beneficial in general for them to be "done" with Dark Souls so they can move out from under Bamco?

Bit the bullet and purchased DS3 + Season Pass.

Probably won't get to play as much but my SoulsBorne collection is almost complete save for Demon's Souls.  :doge

First 2/3rds of 1 > 3 > 2 DLC > 2 vanilla > Demon's > Dung Pie > last 1/3rd of 1.

I'll play Bloodborne when the PS4K comes out.

Dont listen to gaf. Bloodborne isnt nearly as good as dark souls 3.

Dark souls 3 is one of the best games ever.

We should listen to SantaC why?

Bloodborne is fantastic and easily as good as Dark Souls 3. It's not as free form with classes like Dark Souls 3, focusing on really one way to develop a character. But the weapons themselves have their own personality and create variety in play styles. Trick Weapons are also really fun to combo with. The game itself with it's more aggressive gameplay is a really great action game.

Just defeated the damn tree boss magically last night in what some would say was an accident. I was just running around with little no health and dodging it's attacks then it just died. I don't know what happened, but damnit I'm glad whatever happened happened because none of the damage was taking. I can assume it was just lagging or something. Now it's on to the road! Still wearing my initial gear... haven't found any good armor yet.

Before or after hollowing? If you hollowed 5 times he is supposed to die. If you left him out on the bridge then yeah you're screwed.

The Astora Greatsword has been my main for most of the game, got it up to +5 and it destroys most enemies in 2 or 3 hits.

I have this weird performance bug where every time I warp somewhere or die/reload at a bonfire the games performance tanks to the low teens. If I alt-tab out/back in, change the game to windows/back to full screen the game goes back to 60fps.

Then sometimes the bug happens randomly in game as well.

Anyone else see this?

It wasn't that hard.  Just a lot of alt-tabbing to read the Wiki for quests and drops.

It took me 4 runs.  First run took about 35 hours and I played without concern for cheevs.  The other 3 runs took about 45 hours and probably about 5 hours of that was farming covenant drops (I listened to like 6 podcasts for fucks sake).

Dancer of the Boreal Valley

I can get it down to half health reasonably predictably. Then it pulls two swords out and I haven't figured out how to properly dodge when it starts swinging them around in circles for like 10 seconds. Also it has a move where it grabs you and 1 shots you. The animation seems buggy where you will very clearly dodge it yet you'll warp into it's hand.

Use humanity to turn human again after you die.  You need to be human in order to summon other players to help you etc.

I spent most of my time hollow and didn't summon people in DS1

I'd read up on humanity, the game never explains it properly. You can kindle the bonfire when you're in human form (giving you +5 estus flasks each time you rest at a bonfire), get a bonus for every level of humanity on your stats and you can get invaded while in human form. You loose humanity when you die but can pick it up again like your souls. Possibly other stuff as well. You can also farm humanity at a couple spots.

Use humanity at a bonfire to go human. You can use it again to kindle bonfires, giving you extra flask uses. You can also use it as a clutch heal when you're out of flasks.

In human form, you'll be able to see summon signs from other players/ NPCs, to help with boss fights. But you'll also be open to invasions by other players, and NPC Red Phantoms (phantoms will only invade if the boss of the area is still alive.) You also get bonuses to stats like item discovery, chaos damage, and curse resist, but it's negligible and not really worth worrying about on your first play-through.

Dude does full on juggles. It's crazy. Probably one of the most aggressive fights I've seen in a Souls game. I had to completely rework my approach because the Astora Greatsword's attack was too slow and I couldn't hit him fast enough.

Halberd, Claymore, Zweihander, Uchigatana etc..

Pretty much every weapon is good enough to carry you through the game, so just pick one with a moveset you like and keep upgrading it.

Like Dandy says, you can summon players. Many bosses also have NPC summon spots which are only available if you're alive/human. If nothing else, they act as a distraction and damage sponge while you get your job done.

At a point where I have nowhere else to really go and see except the two bosses I'm up to, the dude who fights on his knees and the champion guy. Both of which I'm having tons of trouble with. So now I just have to keep beating my head against them until I win, or until I just stop playing.

I actually just remembered that I never even beat Bloodborne for the same reason.

edit: now that i think about it, the only Souls game I've actually finished is Dark Souls.

The game is just fantastic. Better than DaS1 IMO.

I've made 3 or 4 stabs at Dark Souls 1, from scratch. I got stopped at Blighttown twice, and the last time was in the 2nd major area, the one after Anor Londo.

I keep telling myself I'm done, but I'll probably go back, and I'll end up getting DS3 eventually.

Blighttown is kiiiinda bad even via BC. It chugs hardcore when you're in the swampy area, its so weird. Also when I was traversing the treetops it made my eyes fuck up a lot. Not a fan of the poison bullshit though.

Sif was annoying as shit to fight. Was I meant to be only doing like 60 HP a hit? I think I'm underleveled or my gear is shit.
