Seems like we need a discussion on this.

Personally for adults I don't really have an issues with a transgender using the bathroom that makes them feel comfortable. Hell its only 5 minutes of life and nobody hangs out there.

I do feel sorry for them the first time some pervert uses TG to take pics of little girls however. People are going to get hurt for nor reason, this is a promise.

Wouldn't the easiest solution be to build a 3rd bathroom for children and their parent? Would that not be the easiest way to eliminate the bullshit? I mean generally an additional bathroom isn't going to blow the budget on a new build anyway.

Can't say I care too much about what bathroom a person uses.  Pervs exist and I don't think arbitrary social rules is going to keep a perv out of a bathroom and I don't think blurring that arbitrary line is going to turn normal folks into pervs.

It seems like it's a situation ripe for misunderstandings though I believe that's unavoidable at this point.

Whenever the men's bathroom is taken I use the ladies restroom without even thinking about it. So I don't care, use whatever bathroom is available.

I actually sort of like the idea of changing bathrooms from gender based to age based. You have to figure out what the age limit is, what rules you put in place for how parents take their children in and whatnot but I think it's a good compromise against the bigots who use the "protect children" argument.

In all seriousness, the fact that politicians are actually talking about this isn't a bad thing as its a sign that transgenderness is becoming more mainstream.  This kind of attention will bring out the bigots and people, especially teenagers and children will see that that bigotry is worse than any bathroom molesting boogywomen.  Hate doesn't win hearts and minds.   


Also I think the real solution is that people with kids ought to stay home.  They made their choice.

Also all bathrooms should have sealed stalls that completely steam clean themselves after every use.  Then the only social interaction would be at the sink.  This is the future I want for our children.

I imagine talking to a trans person today is like talking to a freeman in the late 1800s. Just a few years ago I was asking my transgenderperson friend if cheeseburger is really considered a slur and she was like yeah, "but I use it all the time so I don't personally care". My vocabulary is starting to age. =(

Regarding the topic, of course the only decent way to take a dump is in a bathroom that only you can be in but if I have to share, I'd prefer to do it in most antiauthoritarian way possible which would mean communal toilets like they had in Rome. It fits me being a giant asshole with a kind mouth.
