I think someone in the gaf thread for Death Stranding called it: it's about soldiers who are "stranded" in a Limbo-esque state in which they're forced to endlessly fight each other.

I can agree with that but 2 and particularly 3 up the design ant. 1 doesn't have anything like sneaking in Groznyj Grad. 2 and 3 just have better stealth because of more options. 1 is really limited in what you can do both in terms of stealth and combat.

I would def buy a remake of MGS1-2-3 running under the MGS5 engine.  I tried replaying them last summer and, let's just say that the controls  and some of the gameplay has aged terribly :neogaf

What the hell - Passengers and Collateral Beauty are monstrously creepy?? [SPOILERS]

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1327074

Quote
So I'm listening to my favorite film podcast - The Filmcast - and they have a bonus episode where they talk about why and how Collateral Beauty is awful. I'm not surprised that it is
(...)
I mean seriously? What the fuck? The movie apparently paints [editing spoilers out], and the movie completely lacked self awareness to recognize how unconscionable those actions are.
(...)
I was interested in this movie from the trailers, but once reviews came out I decided to spoil myself and read this
(...)
So we have two movies which look like good-natured holiday moviesin the previews, but then the actual plot details end up being creepy as all hell, yet neither movie is self aware enough to realize or acknowledge how...disturbing they are?

:neogaf
Bitch about movies you haven't even seen.

And from OP later on :

Quote
Look, I'm no fan of the 50 Shades series, but I have heard enough of a plot synopsis to know that at least everything is consensual from the very beginning.

passengers does sound creepy as fuck tho and wrong-headed, based on a full plot spoiler of the whole thing. a more interesting take would be her never finding out at all, thus leaving it an ethical argument for the audience on what constitute good (outcome vs action)

By all means, it's possible that it is. I wouldn't mind if the dude wasn't so entrenched and dogmatic on his opinion, despite several people having viewed the film and offering slighty more nuanced readings.

Metal Gear Solid V is not a good game. Kojima hasn't made a good game in years and his writing has devolved and gotten pervy before even 5.

It's an incredible game. It's a shitty story telling vehicle.
No, it's a bad game with a good gameplay. Everything surrounding the gameplay itself is bad. World design, mission design, structure, mission variety, boss battles, story, characters, enemy variety, senerio design, traversal, character progression, and just simply being a Metal Gear Solid game.

But yes when your in a base being stealthy it's ok.

I dunno most/all of the reviews I've read pinpoint this airbrained romanticism of essentially a Stockholm syndrome in space situation.  In the thread only two people seem to have a more nuanced look and their perspective reads  like excess rationalization for a typical zz blockbuster a lister film tbh.  I mean why pick a single girl at all vs some bros for the dude was just lonely. Reads like a trash romance novel my wife flicks her bean to minus the perv sex.

Loved it. Even the wonky ass half finished story.

Same boat. I liked it. As a whole the story is nonsensical but there were some great individual pieces. The gameplay was everything I wanted.

I've articulated why I dislike the game many times. Given an actual valid response to why I think it's bad. Meanwhile you post shit like this and I'm the one can't actually detail an opinion?  No, fuck you dude. I articulate many times why I like or dislike something, if you're just going to dumb it down to this because you disagree then really go fuck yourself and don't make comments about why I should leave the forum because I fly off the handle when people disagree with me. Maybe I wouldn't if people like you were'nt giant assholes when they disagree with me.

And it's hardly blind hate. What does that even mean? Um it takes wholesale from a game I dislike and does it's thing just as bad if not worse, how is that blind? I played both games extensively so it's not that I'm hating on something purely on conjecture. Right above you even have someone saying they like the game because it basically is just like the previous one. Seriously, go fuck yourself. For someone who acts like a pompous bitch in every post I hardly see you ever "articulate" anything beyond "derp deep I sound egotistical so your an idiot somehow".

don't blame kev there given how obnoxiously some of the ff15 defenders have been. i seriously saw someone defend the dumbass bullshit of being able to damage your team mates with magic!

Eh, Friendly Fire should always be an option if it's been properly coded/designed for. Being able to turn it on and have to check your fire is kinda nice, even if the AI sometimes fucks you over.

As for Kev, he used to be good until he became a mod. Then he was whatever, and then became insufferable with "YASS QUEEN" this election.

Yep.  He made a few thousand posts here (aka a typical weekend for him) and once he became a mod, he left this place and started talking shit about the site.  He's always been a tool.

I think a lot of it comes down to sexual frustration. If you have a fulfilling life and you have love, success, and you feel like your own man and you have worth, chances are that you're not up for signing up with neo-nazism. I feel positive that white supremacists who are broken people, find their lust and fascination in anime waifus, lolis, ecchi, shouja, moe and hentai for the same reason as prisoners. Their social lives fail, and the piled up amount of experiences make them hate the world. there is no outlet for them, and MRAs and white supremacists groups become the place where they can blame their own inadequacy outwardly.

I'm no expert and I'm sure there's fascinating inter-cultural exchanges having shaped up japanese animation and comics, but the whole "Japanese secretly hate themselves and all anime characters are really caucasians" always come across as condescending. Borrowing representation styles from other cultures (not that it is exactly clear to me that it is what is going on here) can be consistent with extolling your own collective. That's exactly what "Northern" Europeans did with Greek and Roman inspirations.
