Wasn't Chamberlain unfairly maligned ? He did try to placate Hitler but also pushed for rearming budgets (RAF in particular). Not unlike France starting too late, sure. The appeasing leader being Lord Halifax.

Chamberlain's historical-political mistake was really over-promising about what he had accomplished. It's not like people wanted war.

And France and the UK were in no position to enforce anything against Germany, they weren't even able to enforce the Poland decree after another whole year of rearmament and then a year of sitting around waiting.

And Hitler didn't make that move until he had the pact with the Soviets which made it immediate consequence-free. He was nearly as eager as the allies to get agreements making his seizures of other territories have a "legal" fiction to them just like how the Nazi's took and welded power was done by "legal" means, passing laws and decrees, having elections and such.

The real time table he was working against was the Soviets, the Western front ended up being mostly a non-event until they well after they were stuck in that meatgrinder.

it really depends on what you want from your place.

i mean for some

Quote from: zulux21;228909742
might be a good looking small apartment space.

for me... something like

Quote from: zulux21;228909742
is way better looking.

the top one is boring, and while it doesn't look bad at first glace it's not very interesting at all.

meanwhile the bottom one obviously has a lot more going on and can be a bit less inviting, but once you are in and take it in feels way more awesome and homey, and is a place I would much rather be.

I have nerd shit all over the place. Nerd posters on the walls, Legos in stands and shelves, book-cases filled with comics and nerd books, little figures scattered around. It's not cluttered by any means but the second you step foot into my living room you know what's up. I think you should do whatever the fuck you want as long as it looks good to you. My girlfriend and I love the way our apartment looks because it reflects our interests. We'd be depressed as fuck if it was just sparse and minimal. When we come home from a long day we wanna be surrounded by things we love.

Have you ever thought about getting something to use as a room divider?  Before the move to a much larger condo, we rented a one bedroom apartment.  I used a big IKEA Expedit to divide the living room and had the couch and TV on one side and my PC/desk/some nerd shit on the other.  Worked great and really made the place feel like two rooms.  I just like having a clean living area...I hate clutter.

I dunno what I'm gonna do when we have a kid.  My room is gonna go bye-bye and without a larger place, I'm not gonna have room for all that crap.

Nice! :)

Pictures/posters are acceptable when used sparingly.

Except they purify the air. And if the plant is large/thirsty enough, it can act like a natural humidifier.

And research has shown plants make people feel better.

It's not so much what it is (except in cases like putting anime wallscrolls in your hallway.  Uh...) so much as just hating clutter.  I like a nice open, airy, minimalist living room.  Has a couch, TV stand, one small bookshelf, a lamp, and one small side table.  That's it.  In fact apart from my nerdo-room, the rest of my condo is pretty minimalist.  All the furniture is modern, too- contempory  :yuck :yuck :yuck :yuck

Firstly, it's not "my" news and it's not "fake".

Jet fuel can't melt Trump's toupee. Not fake news, but utter paranoid conspiracy.

People defending a hit on the head that combined with the force of the impact against the floor might kill a person, because he's "a nazi". You know, if he did anything illegal you can just call justice on him. But never defend this attitude. There's no defense.

Nah. Fuck Nazis. Punch every Nazi right in the fucking face.

Nah. Plenty of times people die from getting KOpd by a punch and getting braindamage from falling unconscious on the back of their skull. I don't advocate for people to roll a lottery of involuntary homicide, and you shouldn't either. What's the difference between a guy who believes in the nazi values and one that believes in the cruelty of stoning for adultery? Well, the fact they're "thinking" that. The materialization of those ideas will only happen when a majority of the population believes the same. Should that happen, and by democracy rules, it will not be a problematic point of view but the new type of goverment.

There's no universal moral compass. Mine says you shouldn't get physical vs someone who didn't endanger anyone's life nor physically assaulted anyone. If the person did something like a speech that incites murdering someone (something BLM protests [or at least in favor of the BLM movement because it's so hard to actually prove] have actually chanted "pigs in a blanket fry em like bacon"), well record him, call the authorities and let them handle the case. This is what members of a civilized society should do.

This fake hysteria "oh he could have died" is hilarious. Are you friends with a bunch of porcelain dolls or some shit? Getting punched is a "roll of the dice for homicide' lmao fuck outta here ya puss

All digital has been a godsend. That said I still did go out of my way to buy a SNES last year with a small collection of games. I feel like if Analogue Nt had released a SNES version I would have been dumb enough just to buy it. :lol But the SNES is as much for aesthetics as it is for the games. I'm also really tempted by the idea of a SNES Classic by Nintendo later on... aesthetics + all-digital? Will be hard to resist dumping my real system for that.

My living room when I'm done with it will have a couch, TV stand, chair, two small side tables (one for my Google Wifi, which in itself is minimally designed), a lamp, and a coffee table.

And yeah, contemporary... :holeup

It's practically Chittagong's pad. He's since updated the tv to something nicer.

See now this looks nice, except for the useless throw rug and plants.

Also seems to have a bit too much furniture but that's dependent on the size of the groups over at his place I suppose.

For all the shit that I have collected, I could totally do without it and just go all-digital for games, too.  I don't think it would bother me very much, but I do like nerding out and buying useless crap, too.  As long as it all fits into my setup.

My wife is always like "you're really gonna get rid of all those games, toys, and crap?"
:gurl

But...yeah.  I could do it.  That would be a shitload of cash I could use to get a nice digital collection with.
 :jawalrus

And I might have to if space becomes an issue later on.
 :tocry

My living room when I'm done with it will have a couch, TV stand, chair, two small side tables (one for my Google Wifi, which in itself is minimally designed), a lamp, and a coffee table.

And yeah, contemporary... :holeup

Carpet?  Noooooooooooooo~

I take it you rent though?  I made sure that a requirement when I bought a place was no fuckin' carpet anywhere.  My wife bought a couple of rugs though.  Had to get a big one for the living room since the dog would slide on the floor when trying to run and jump onto the couch.  :lol

I don't exactly want to fill it with my nerd shit but don't really like the minimalist look either. I don't play David Cage games, don't want to live in one either.

Just get me a comfy ass couch, a coffee table to leave my shit on, and a desk for my TV and I'm golden.

If all you need is a couch, coffee table, and a desk...that's pretty minimalist, bruh.  :)

This too.  Or at least very organized and clutter-free.  That's what I'm talking about!  :pimp
