If there is one thing that annoys me with a lot of the media in America it is how insulated and disconnected it regularly presents daily news stories that have international components. Even the better outlets. Though some at least try a bit. But how many people will actually luck into finding it? IMO it leads to a lot of ignorance and people filling that void with whatever is in reach and fits their biases.

We can have 20 hours of cable news talking about the American political theater of the Christopher Steele leaks or Trumps comments on NATO but you may be lucky to get one partisan that offers up a small editorial about Russia's own internal political situation, and often in a declarative, not informative way. So you are developing opinions without full context. I mean how can anyone expect to make an accurate assessment of how to take Trump's comments on NATO or Russia if you fail to provide people with the necessary context around the non-American component of that story?

IMO thats why I feel like I meet so many people that haven't the fucking foggiest clue about Russia's domestic situation. Why those sanctions are in place, what NATO's purpose actually is, what Putin's own positions are, what his own influences are. Yet they have strong opinions one way or another about Trump's comments. So in that vacuum of context people fill shit up with assumptions or nonsense masquerading as objective contextualization.

I've already 'spoilt' the not at all non surprising ending of the game, that got leaked, so I'll happily wait to see whether once the game opens up it will retain interest.
