I know this is a sensational source, but imagine the meltdown and instalock if I posted this on gaf
92% of left-wing activists live with their parents and one in three is unemployed, study of Berlin protesters finds
I mean a shit conservative tabloid rag quoting another shit conservative tabloid rag would be a pretty justifiable lock
Broken clocks and all that.
Would it though? The original source is the BfV (Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, our domestic intelligence agency). Dismissing the message simply because you dislike the messenger isn't necessarily a great idea.
EDIT: Though as Fifstar pointed out, the report is about left wing extremists, not protesters in general. The Daily Mail headline is certainly misleading.
If you want to go to bat for the accuracy of this piece from a completely disreputable source, lets start with the actual study? Because none of the right-wing sites parading this story around have it, nor does the right-wing German tabloid they all reference.
If you go to the actual departments site they list all their publications, I have not found a single one that states what these sites are claiming in those exact terms. Nor have any google searches turned up anything.
I've seen enough bullshit Daily Mail Climate Change links to know the default of anything they report is that it is at best misleading, if not completely false.
Its not like the findings would appall me in anyway, but if someone comes across this and actually vets it, why would you not just link the actual report? Something is almost always not right when a place quotes another tabloid that itself fails to source its assertions. And those assertions are not easily found elsewhere.
