RiskyChris wasn't even too bad until he suddenly went entirely insane there at the end. Same with some others reigns of terror, shit was easy enough to ignore by thread titles alone. Now it's almost like any thread over two pages is the signal to avoid.

The whole clique that posts 30 times a day and sends up a signal flare to mob people/threads into oblivion is far worse than one or two dudes who would get heated on certain topics only.

To get overly serious and be all stupid about it even though I'm more reflecting on a prior post than actually expecting anything, I don't see how baiting people into saying something overly bigoted shouldn't be considered a form of trolling and thus bannable.

II. Expected Behavior

NeoGAF is a forum for holding civil, evidence-based discussion. Do not post disingenuously, or in an inflammatory manner for the sole purpose of upsetting others.

The funny part being these are the same posters who say "giving them a platform to expose themselves never works and is actively harmful" when they spend all their days trying to expose and cleanse a video game forum of wrongthink.

The thing that's crazy about NeoGAF is that its value is completely dependent on the very same users (effectively volunteers in many cases) who inevitably get perma-banned or become disillusioned after seeing their communities get shredded by perma-bans (some users, like Shinobi, become disillusioned for other, less agreeable reasons, but in terms of grunt work are still significant losses to the site that Evilore doesn't seem to care about). The way the community adds new members exacerbates this further, setting it apart from reddit and other forums.

What happened with Shinobi (if you mean that guy from Canada that hated pizza and never got a license). I've known him since 1998 on a chat program and haven't spoken to him for about 10 years. I figured he left at some point.

The one with the Newman from Seifield avatar. Mass Effect: Andromedea was a turd, he shilled it hard for years. Fell on his sword made a "FUCK GAF!" writing site no1currs about.

RiskyChris was a drama magnet that made every thread about his personal life and issues. He was, for lack of a better term, the stereotype of the "SJW" that your Trump fans trot out to discredit actual liberal ideology. Back before NeoGAF became a cesspit of "maybe the races shouldn't mix after all" racism, his bullshit wasn't tolerated and he was perm'd. He'd be protected status these days.

In the beginning GAF was about entertainment and discussion. Then there once came a boy named RiskyChris who made an outrage of everything and spent all his time virtue signalling.  He was insufferable, finding offense in everything under the sun. He was eventually banned as an insufferable nitwit and there was much rejoicing as he was banished a ring fell from his finger. Besada seeing the ring coveted it for himself and put it on. An illness infested him and other mods and they began to ban anyone and everyone that took any step out of what they had prescribed as "right minded" and allowed anyone that was interested in virtue signalling run with impunity. This continued until Besada and the rest of GAF surpassed even RiskChris to such a point where the once golden one, would be seen as "problematic"

Yeah, he was a weird one.  He just showed up and started posting about shit from other message boards, as if everyone knew what he was talking about. 

A number of his posts were self-deleted or edited after he was warned to stop...narolfing.  He was banned because he was a legit crazy e-stalker.  I got PMs from some members who gave me a lot of information on how he was posting stuff about females that he'd never actually talked to -just creeped on- and had personal info, photos, etc. that he was starting to post.  That was the last straw.

Some dudes are desperate as fuck and think buying gifts and handing out money is a sure way to get laid. I posted years ago in a thread where the OP was asking for advice on someone who worked in a cafe and whether she liked him or was just being friendly/doing her job etc, that my now ex-GF used to receive gifts and money from guys at her workplace, which was a cafe in an industrial area. When she was making coffee she'd chat to customers(which of course is how I ended up dating her) but some guys took her friendly chat the wrong way and thought the fact she initiated conversation with them meant she wanted to fuck them, of course...

Every Valentine's day, the cafe would be filled with balloons and presents all for her from random dudes she wouldn't look twice at in a dating sense. One customer went overseas and came back with a bunch of gifts for her, one of which was a book. When she got home and opened the book up there was $1000 cash inside it. I can't even remember half the other stories but they all reeked of desperation and she never dated anyone who just straight out bought her gifts and tried to give her money. Even after we started dating and she told these guys she had a boyfriend, it didn't stop them buying her shit. It's like they were infatuated with her.

I do photography and one of the models I shot awhile back had a guy massively friendzoned. He would take her on vacations. She would demand seperate rooms and not hang out with him at all during the trips. He was paying her rent and car payments. He paid for her boob job but never got to see them. He would message me reguarly offering me hundreds of dollars for any revealing photos I may have had of her. I would just take his money and then send him some boring bikini photos of her. Then he would ask if I had "anything more revealing". I'd take an extra $400 from him then email him a bunch of boring photos again afterwards. Such a weird guy but I made a bunch of money off him for nothing.
