I agree. At the same time article is low-grade clickbait trash.
The article (and the other one posted a few days later) mostly consists of "Twitter Reaction", all of the pictures are taken from twitter.
Has zero reporting and no author, could have been written up by an intern.
Doesn't cite any sources besides a message board. "According to reports", "a growing trend", according to who? The closest we get is "reports" of Thailand now requiring travelers to have a certain amount of cash on them but doesn't expand upon why or when that decision was made. Again, the "source" of the "reports" is a message board.

I find the picture(s) pretty despicable but that is the point. The post is pandering shit that manages to get almost everyone angry. NeoGAF.com and old, rich white dads agree,
"Those damn kids need to get a job!" I'm sure news.com.au is grateful for the renewed traffic several months after the fact.
