one of the villains, Doctor Poison, is a woman and essentially a terrorist...maybe she's supposed to be Palestinian? the actress is a lesbian from Spain

i know, i know, you expect more from me, but i haven't really looked into this one too much, all i know is that it's how i found out Zack Snyder was raised as a Christian Scientist and has like eight kids

one of them is named Ezekiel which is a pretty obvious (((signal))) to his masters in Mossad

I just heard a segment on NPR with Peter Navarro that was blatantly transparent about avoiding questions.

He’s obviously on to beat the Chinese Trade War drums, however, when asked about ZTE he claims that it’s a law enforcement investigation and his directions are to not comment on it, and then when asked about Trumps using the office to enrich themselves claims people don’t care about it.

I’ve honestly never quite heard anything like it in any other administration.

I'm about the billionth person to make this observation, but it's still funny that people who throw around snowflake/triggered/safe space as epithets have deified someone so cartoonishly thin-skinned.

they should just tell him yeah, you missed it, were in the john or giving a speech or whatever

something else on tv or some reflected light will distract him in a little bit and he'll move onto that

She's Ottoman in the movie.

We're practically months away from recognizing the Armenian Genocide now if we're acknowledging they were on the other side in World War 1 in our propaganda.

The bombshell is Trump saying in private what he'd said in public already, from what I can tell.

Being honest, I will wait and see before taking Shaun along hot take at face value.

The WSJ is the one who broke the news so if definitely happened and the NFL is 100% screwed.

Identity politics vs the horrible death toll of an incompetent government and the dumbfucks both in corporate media and social media are wasting their time with the former.

Does anyone, fucking anyone at least partly agrees with the point I've been making for years?

Good point, the celebrity story (Roseanne) is being covered a lot more than the IDPOL one (a predominantly Spanish-speaking US territory getting fucked over by a racist administration).

The big three cable news stations have been this way for a long time. Heavily sensationalist and trending toward infotainment. Always frustratingly lacking in both their prioritization and their mostly superficial coverage of most of what they do actually cover. Each with their unique traits. You aren't uncovering some hidden knowledge people are blind to. I mean there is an entire cottage industry of news satire shows that have been anchored around this shit. If your only point had been that the big three are the caricature Jon Stewart made his living off of, yeah, agreed...Its the CNN is a secret shill for the military industrial complex and I have the Russia Today tweet to prove it that no one buys. At least not me.

It's actually an interesting post to see just how shitty its been, but somehow I knew the moment it got acknowledged some version of this was in the pipeline.

You don't really make points though, you say random shit and its always completely unsubstantiated or half cocked. The argument you had been making was that CNN was a shill for the military industrial complex based on out of context RT tweets and some specious reasoning. This isn't really evidence toward that.

It's actually an interesting post to see just how shitty its been, but somehow I knew the moment it got acknowledged some version of this was in the pipeline.

The point I've been making is that corporate media are deliberately spamming identity politics drama to distract and divide instead of focusing on real issues while the halfwit majority at social media are picking up the torch from them to continue bickering over complete and utter nonsense.

Yeah, that's a bad theory.

I’ve never seen you post anything that wasn’t seeped in some sort of identity politics Optimus. So if the great crime of society is being too obsessed with tribal divisions, you are certainly helping lead the charge. I’ve been active for a couple years now and I’ve not once seen you try and have a discussion about policy or non-identity centric issues. Even when I tried to have one with you about healthcare you immediately tried to frame it in in-group/out-group dynamics and ran as fast as you could to declare guilt by group association.

The cable news media certainly covers the tribal squabbles like sport, and the most brazen one, Fox, is basically just a propoganda network for their political tribe most hours of the day. But you go off the deep end when you start teetering on the nefarious conspiracy plot lines.

There's a steady stream of bad news from Puerto Rico that's been ignored for awhile now. It's one of many great shames, and something you should keep in mind when you're told to vote for Salmon P. McRaytheon (D) so that a watered down tax credit or something can get passed.

Has Optimus ever really elaborated what he thinks identity politics actually is?

Has Optimus ever really elaborated what he thinks identity politics actually is?

I think it's politics based around some cultural identity and fake grievances that go with that. Identity politics on the left is primarily the result of corporate media deliberately stirring up racial and gender issues in order to divert the focus away from economic inequality, and identity politics on the right mostly come from being annoyed with the left. There is essentially no connection with historical political movements.

Okay, so I know he's not a fan of BLM cause I guess certain members might be happy that Black Panther had a nearly all African American cast, but if you ask him if he think police brutality is a serious concern, I would ASSUME he PROBABLY thinks that's worth calling attention to.

Of course...I also gave etoilet the benefit of the doubt one time.

I imagine he'd tell you that police brutality is a problem for everyone, and turning it into a racial issue is a diversion.

It's weird for me that some people* think of race/gender issues as being a Trojan horse for neoliberalism, since it was the DLC and its allies that wanted to move to the right on race as well as economic issues. Plus the 1988 Jesse Jackson platform. Plus John Conyers' healthcare bill and its list of co-sponsors. Plus the demographics of the working class generally.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
*To be fair not a lot of people feel this way. They're overrepresented among people who log on to argue about shit, and I think a lot of it comes from people losing their minds during the 2016 primaries.

I always thought it was super weird how Hillary became the face of identity politics when the people who supposedly hate idpol kept relentlessly attacking her for her "superpredator" comments.

I think that is sort of the irony in this whole moment imo. The people who claim to hate identity politics(who tend to define it narrowly as only cultural, racial, and social identities) also happens to be the group far and away with their politics most seeped in them.
