Can we really trust a candidate who was working overtime to keep neoliberals in power just three years ago? Makes you think.

Chris Cillizza is proof we don't live in a meritocracy.

It's not just that he has bad takes, it's unclear that he's actually driving traffic for CNN in any way.

Similarly, Mark Halperin was considered an enormous figure in political reporting, got metoo'ed in 2017, and went for a comeback this year. He got 75 political consultants (including some very high profile ones like David Axelrod) to do on-the-record interviews for his book, and then it sold all of 500 copies in its first week.

Jobs are generally growing but slower than before he took office. That's the story with a lot of things - not particularly great but not cratering either.

Trump: Send his lawyer to grift in Ukraine and made some money on the side, acted like a complete asshole, became pen pals with Kim Jong Un and trolled on Twitter
LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP  :punch

Bush: Invaded Iraq for no reason, sending the region into turmoil for decades killing millions, possibly crashed the global world economy, reintroduced torture and most likely committed war crimes
"Gotta love the guy!"  :smug

Obama: Fucked up Libya because HRC told him to, creating the biggest refugee flood in history by doing so. Gave away Crimea and Syria to Putin by sitting on his hands, watched ISIS grow and did nothing but 'leading from behind' and escalating the DRONE WARS

No nation, however large or small, wealthy or poor, can escape the impact of climate change.  Rising sea levels threaten every coastline.

Just purchased $11 million dollar home on waterfront this week.

I agree and that is kinda the point. It shows just how much faith Obama really has in the claims from the "World will burn/freeze/be beyond repair" in "Insert batshit crazy number" like  AOCand Threata Threatberg are spouting. Obama just caved to the climate crisis zealots and Gay Mafia during his tenure. He shows his true colors now.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/07/politics/cory-booker-fundraising-surge/
Quote
Since Sen. Cory Booker issued a call this week for maintaining a diverse field of 2020 Democratic presidential candidates, grassroots donors have answered in a big way.

The New Jersey Democrat raised more than $1 million dollars between Tuesday -- when Sen. Kamala Harris of California dropped out of the race -- through Friday, his campaign said. His campaign added that Wednesday was his best online fundraising day of the entire campaign.

That money came not only from Booker loyalists, but from many new supporters. Of 33,000 donors who contributed to the campaign since Tuesday, more than 50%, or roughly 17,000 donors, gave to Booker for the first time. The average contribution was $25, according to the campaign.

The surge of fundraising for Booker suggests an enthusiastic, positive response to his searing criticism of a race to the White House that now has "more billionaires than Black people."
Quote
Booker's campaign announced he reached the donor threshold for the December presidential debate. Despite the new interest in Booker from Democratic donors, it is likely too late for him to qualify for a spot: both Booker and Julián Castro, who has also pressed the need for minority candidates following Harris' departure, have yet to net a single qualifying poll for the December debate.

It would be the first time Booker has not qualified for a debate this cycle.

But he suggested this week that Harris' decision to end her campaign has lit a fire under him to press ahead in his own campaign.

"I'm feeling even more determined," he said in an interview on Wednesday with BuzzFeed News' AM to DM. "Because I know we need to resurrect that Obama coalition."
