Obviously they're not going to denuclearize and Trump visiting in person would be a diplomatic "win" for NK, but anything that lowers the chance of a preemptive war is fine by me.
The South Koreans are most bullish on this, which makes it weird. In fact Tillerson told reporters this morning that any negotiations with North Korea were still months if not years away.

CNN loves Trump now

White House just officially confirmed Trump's acceptance of Kim's invitation. Time and place to be determined. Sanctions remain in place.
That Erin Burnett quote lowers my opinion of her dramatically. It might be the single stupidest take of anything about Trump at this point, because at this point everyone knows he is an idiot. If something good comes out of it, it is because of 1 of 2 things:
1) blind luck, I.e. south and North Korea are ready to make a deal anyway, and Trump is just there at the right time, and manages not to blow it up with his own stupidity.
2) an authoritarian government in the region, like Russia and/or China muscles in on N Korea in an attempt to gain points with Trump so that he looks the other way on other, more important strategic US priorities, likely without Trump or his neophyte team even recognizing what they have done.
It’s crazy to me how much of this country thinks there is any merit to this strong arm negotiating tactic.
