Republicans caring about the deficit for the first time in 40 years only because they don't want to give people in need money, what a shocker

They cared about it when Obama was in office. Then when Clinton was in office.

I'm seeing a pattern here.

It's almost like they realize November won't go so well, so it's time to revert back to deficit concern trolling and prevent any legislation from passing in 2021.

Gets asked about the death projections into the summer, Trump's response is literally "I don't want to think about it" and goes on to ramble about the China ban.

When asked directly what crime he's accusing Obama of, his answer is "You know what it is, everyone knows what crimes he committed, anyone who reads the papers except yours because you're fake news" etc.

He is also STILL saying every American can get tested, tests for every American whenever they want, while encouraging people to NOT get tested at the same time.

EDIT: What the fuck the last couple of minutes. What an absolute pissbaby  :lol

Trump is super pissed because of #ObamaGate, Flynn and Chuck Todd.
The reporters are anxious because Fauci and Pence are both self-quarantining, COVID-19 is going around the White House and the country and Trump attacks Obama, one of their favorites.
The White House staff is looking on completely shell shocked.

an unmitigated disaster

Damn, riot, how much land is that? :p

Lot size is like 8,200 sq ft.  House sits on about 3,100 but 750 of that is garage.

Big back yard... 15 minutes from downtown (in Corona traffic at least! lol)... I will probably keep this house forever.

Your situation is very much the sliders set the other way of mine :lol I’m 45min-1hr from Portland proper (rarely go anymore tbh tho), house takes up only like ~600sqft of the ~2/3rd acre yard (does have attic space/basement, but otherwise a tiny house!) but my mortgage is about a third of yours. Considering building another small home on the property rn but I also just love having my yard be forest (except my badminton court I carved out  8)) I also intend it as my forever home

Have seen an uptick in Trump flags/signs/etc put up around here. As someone who pretty much discounted all these people four years ago, I am now thinking that if we are able to come out of shutdown without a giant spike in deaths he may be reelected. I am not sure how many would have to die to actually start swaying his supporters.

It doesn't help that the dems are pretty clownshoes. I don't think Biden is a much better candidate than Hillary was. Then again a lot of the people in the rust belt/etc. (that swung the election last time by throwing a hail mary on someone promising improvement) will hopefully not vote for him again this time so can see it going the other way. Eh.

It's funny. I'm more on board with Latino politics than black politics. Niccas wanna do the same ol thing. The same ol thing that has garnered few results. Moderate black Dems are the same niccas to run to the government and beg them to "do something" which without missing a beat, always subjugates and outlaws black people. Then twenty years later complain about how black people are worse off.

Moderate black people, and this is real talk, have had quite possibly the worst political instincts.

A group of dust heads. Remember when they said Obama couldn't possibly win and tried to sell us on Hillary? lol

Latinos tho :ohyeah

They on the wave.

Black folks gonna be get mad and cry about racism if Joe loses when anyone with a brain will rightfully blame them for hitching their ride to him. But nah, they'll be right, and I won't say nothing but drink my "at least I'm not one of those dumb bitches" juice.

It's an utter shame MLK and Malcolm talked about the white moderate so much. They should have turned their ire to the black moderate just as much.

They're just as much an obstacle to freedom as the whities.

But... explain the "Latinos" part of your thinking Cindi..

Don't like half of them currently support Trump?

Latinos are very diverse in political opinion. There's many that support trump and yet Latinos still propelled Sanders to win California and Nevada.

Still seems odd to latch onto and insult black voters over;  there are a lot of "moderate blacks" compared to Latinos because blacks aren't out supporting Republcians in huge numbers like Latinos are.

Black moderates made their bed. :yeshrug

I'm not latching on. I'm making commentary on the fact many Latinos are more forward thinking. I've had it up to here with black moderates. Did I tell you my mother voted for Bloomberg?

SALT is such a dumb idea. Yes, there's a larger share of people who are still may be upper middle income bracket that gets affected by it.

There's a million other things that need to be taken care of it first, and I don't care if people who can afford to qualify for SALT get a tax break.

Its tempting to think everything Trump does is just random and stupid, I personally disagree. In his rhetoric he claims to support big business, small business and 9 to 5 lunchpail Real Americans. Given the trajectory of this crisis, the response and his presidency which of these factions do you expect him to politically represent most in his actions and in what order?

Even before Trump had a record as a candidate and an officeholder, his entire brand for decades was Rich Guy Who Keeps Telling You He's Rich Because He Thinks His Wealth Validates Him To The Point Where He Literally Puts Gold On Everything.

It's rather unlikely that the smoldering heart of socialism is secretly beating in his chest.

Said this before, but I think a really underrated political moment was the Republican party almost unanimously opposing Dodd-Frank.

In the wake of the finance industry fucking up so bad that they'd triggered the worst recession since the Great Depression, the GOP figured they could still vote against any sort of reform and not be punished by the electorate. Which was completely insane but also they were right.

It’s almost certain that Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) did not intend to prohibit the president from steering campaign funds to his own hotels, resorts, and golf clubs. He introduced a bill this month explicitly designed to target campaign spending by a House colleague, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). Steube even appears to have taken steps to insulate the president from his bill’s prohibitions. But the language of his legislation would very likely bar Trump campaign payments to Trump businesses as well, and his office could not muster an explanation otherwise.

Steube’s legislation, which was introduced on May 1, is called the Obstructing Monetary Allocations to Relatives Act, or OMAR Act, a not-at-all-subtle shot at Omar, who has steered nearly $600,000 since 2018 to a company owned by political consultant Timothy Mynett, whose ex-wife said in divorce filings in early 2019 that he had admitted to carrying on an affair with Omar.

The bill prohibits any campaign payment “to a vendor which is owned or controlled by an immediate family member of the candidate,” which it defines as “a father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, husband, wife, father-in-law, or mother-in-law.” A company is considered to be “controlled” by a candidate’s family member if that family member “is a member of the board of directors or similar governing body of the vendor.”
