Someone enlighten me, what's wrong with "never trumpers".
Isn't that type of faction always baked into every election? Back in 2004 and 2012, huge swaths of the voting public weren't voting for Kerry and Romney, they were just voting to get rid of their proverbial 'anti-christ'.
I'm sure there's a lot of earnest ones but it's a much smaller (or less influential) faction than originally imagined, some of the famous names who made a big show of it in 2016 progressively came back to tow Trump & the Party's line and I expect a few more will still as the election gets closer.
None of it may be the fault of the sincere ones but I think there was a lot of despair, bitterness and disappointment at how quick the GOP folded to brown nose Trump.
They're also always going to be seen as flimsy, unreliable allies demanding substantial compromises to a left-leaning electoral coalition.
Depressed Republican turnout might still play a big role in the election, I guess we'll have a better idea of how solid the sentiment really was.
