Fact check: Satirical claim that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Ginsburg's death

The claim: The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

The headline of an article published by satire website The Babylon Bee is a nod to the contentious history between the Trump administration and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. The Babylon Bee is "the world's best satire site," according to its website.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died of metastatic pancreatic cancer Sept. 18, is actually "alive," the article suggests, because the 9th Circuit overturned her death.

"In a close decision, the judges on the court have ruled RBG's death unconstitutional and will block Trump from nominating a replacement," the article says.

Ninth Circuit Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw was credited with issuing the ruling on the basis that Ginsburg's death was an "affront to the (Constitution)" and the "God-given right to abort as many babies as possible and sell their body parts for research."

Therefore, Ginsburg will still be considered "alive" by the law, the article says. As to how the court will accomplish this feat, Wardlaw admitted, according to the article, "We're still figuring that part out."

Any attempt to fill the vacancy left by Ginsburg will be blocked by the 9th Circuit until she can be cloned or resurrected, according to the article.

Predictably, President Donald Trump and fellow Republicans condemned the "ruling," saying, "This is a terrible ruling because we're racist and we hate women."

Our rating: Satire

We rate this claim SATIRE, based on our research. A satirical article about the 9th Circuit "overturning" Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death has no basis in fact. It is true that the 9th Circuit has ruled against many Trump-era policies.

This is one of those shifting timeline moments.

Tomorrow we wake up to see what the debate between President Jeb and challenger Pete Buttigieg was like.

As for a movie
American Psycho
Home Alone 2
Die Hard 3
The Dark Knight

Seem like good starting points

The debate might not go ahead anyway. Trump demanded a drug test, Biden refused. His campaign demanded an earpiece inspection, Biden refused.
The Biden team demanded a break every 30 minutes, team Trump refused. They all have their excuses ready not to go ahead just in case.

And honestly who can blame them, this is a terrible idea for both sides  :lol

While it is a fun movie it's no John McTiernan original.
If you're short of time and you only have time for 2 movies, I recommend 1 and 3, because Die Hard 2 doesn't tie into the Gruber plot and is its own separate thing.

I voted for Trump as soon as I became a citizen. Here's why I'm doing it again.
https://news.yahoo.com/american-gave-first-vote-trump-000200836.html

Quote
I came to the United States in 2009 at the age of 27 from an island where the last free and fair elections happened 72 years ago — Cuba. There, violent communist rule is not some "red scare" tactic or a concern of generations past but the insufferable reality for more than 11 million people, including many family members I was forced to leave behind when I received asylum here.

Quote
Then, as now, I didn't care about so-called political correctness when choosing a candidate; I realize many other Latinos favor more government involvement in our lives and young Latinos trend more liberal, but I'd had quite enough of groupthink in Cuba. I looked for a good manager and administrator to lead a government, and I felt and I now think that President Trump is the right person for the job.

Quote
Beyond that, Trump delivered on the 2016 campaign promises that were important to me then: He lowered taxes; he appointed judges to the federal bench who hew strictly to the Constitution; he has, at every turn, pushed for merit-based immigration; and he has rescinded a whole host of unnecessary regulations. His agenda was, and continues to be, pro-business, pro-family and pro-life.

Quote
So I was glad Joe Biden "beat the socialist" Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who has praised a number of socialists and communist regimes, in the primaries; however, that win does not appear to have stopped the increasing influence of Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and the other self-identified democratic socialists within the Democratic Party.

I can understand this guy's massive fear given his life experience. I'm a citizen of a post-Eastern Bloc country, but Donald J Trump ain't it chief.

President Trump’s son Eric affirmed he is not “part of” the LGBT community after appearing to come out in a televised interview Tuesday.

A friend of the Trump family told The Post that “he misspoke” when appearing to say he was “part of that community”
Quote
Trump later told The Post he was simply trying to paraphrase what LGBT supporters have said about his father. “To clarify, many of our close friends are part of the LGBT community, which was the intent of my statement — the left has taken that vote for granted for a long time and support from the gay community for my father is incredible,” Trump said.

“As to me personally, as I think you know, I am a happily married man to my wife, Lara,”
Quote
Trump also affirmed that he is not bisexual.

He's an ideological think tank guy, which explains why his list of Trump accomplishments are such cookie cutter AEI language.

Democrats: Voting by mail is safe, secure, and easy

Democrats:

Quote
Multiple voters in Brooklyn told Gothamist / WNYC that they have received a mislabeled “official absentee ballot envelope.” Normally, the voter inserts their completed ballot into the envelope and signs the outside. But in these cases, their ballot envelopes bear the wrong name and address. If a person signs their own name to this faulty ballot envelope, the ballot would be voided.

So far, voters in Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Carroll Gardens, Crown Heights, Clinton Hill, Bushwick, Flatbush, Brooklyn Heights, Sunset Park, Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Fort Greene have already reported the issue. More than 140,000 absentee ballots have gone out across the borough.

Quote
On Tuesday, the New York City Board of Elections announced a plan to print and mail new absentee ballots to nearly 100,000 voters who received erroneous envelopes in their absentee ballot packages. The decision comes after an unknown number of Brooklyn voters received absentee ballots with the wrong name and address printed on the return envelope.

Quote
Phoenix was awarded a $4.6 million contract to produce and distribute the absentee ballots for the BOE in May, The CITY reports, noting that “the contract was a negotiated acquisition, which means that there was no competitive bidding.”

I thought it was a very healthy and informative debate, I learned a lot about not only both candidates but the process and our love of peaceful democracy here in the Northern Americas. I cannot wait for America to decide 2020 with its votes, it's exciting to know that when the people speak our politicians listen. Also, I hope Kamala wears her Chucks to the upcoming debate so I can wear them too and we'll be friends!

They made a list of more than 30 celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift and Billy Joel to appear in their ad campaign to "inspire hope" about coronavirus, but they ended up with only Dennis Quaid, CeCe Winans and Hasidic singer Shulem Lemmer.

The health department’s $300 million-plus, taxpayer-funded vehicle to boost confidence in President Donald Trump’s response to the pandemic is sputtering. Celebrities are refusing to participate, and staff are arraying against it. Some complain of the unstated aim of helping Trump’s re-election. Others point to an ill-prepared video team and a 22-year-old political appointee who has repeatedly asserted control despite having no public health expertise, according to six people with close knowledge of the campaign and documents related to its operations.

H has said white supremacists are bad but never goes into specifics. Even today he refused to say that systematic racism exists or that the country even has a problem. He never says those things because his base also doesn’t  see themselves as racist. People rarely will say they are something that is bad.

Just like with all the whistleblowing and talk of invaders in the suburbs. He’s not going to say it outright but it’s so obvious what he means.

it's like arguing on the internet. you don't win by making the better points, you win by being the one who appears to be having more fun.

I think if someone kept asking me the same question I would stop playing their game.

It makes sense to ask Sleepy Creepy Joe about Antifa because as far as I know, he hasn't been asked that and given his answer.

You see the difference?

lol he did remind me of Gil though with the constant stares at the camera.

But other then that he did'nt seem to have as many gafs or "dementia" like the Trump campaign has pushed.

It's really not that hard to say "yes, white supremacists I condemn, my supporters are not that how dare you conflate the two blah blah blah" rather than freezing up. It's been five years now.

Is like he considers his followers white supremacists and that they are dumb enough to get mad at him for denouncing them in public.
