I disagree about the controls.
Or to be more precise, the controls worked perfectly fine in MGS1, then became outdated and convoluted in MGS 2-3-4, but then MGS5 went back to controlling just fine.
And i think the cutscene thing got a bit better after the abomination that was 4, but regardless, despite his love for movies and his desire to make them, he still puts enough uniqueness into the game design side of things, to make that statement unfair.
I don't think the problem's that he wants to make movies, but that he succumbs to the classic Anime issue of over explaining everything 50 times, so you end up with 30 minutes of stock footage about the cold war.
Regardless of the final result, more thought is put into making his games play in unique ways, than something that just takes a template and slaps a cinematic pass into it, like Order 1886 or whatever.
Then again, i'm also fine with games like David Cage's (writing quality aside) because i think there's plenty of space for hybrid experiences anyway.
That said, i also can't stand the cult of Kojima and am deeply annoyed by the whole Silent Hills bullshit, which i'm glad Konami got to kill before it was too late.
