Trump death (of his tenure of office) pool

The World is weary and in disarray. So many uncertainties. So many great questions to adress...
But let's keep in mind the most important is proving you're better than anyone at comprehending life by gambling on future events to be vindicated when your random guess happens to have been right !

Betting on a first year removal from office, though it's high-risk. With how things unfold now, I expect a very rough beginning for his administration.

He's going to win 2020 too. So 2024.

But then again the republicans have all levels of federal government. I think it was two more states, but if the democrats lose two more states the republicans can change amendments. It is completely possible they could overturn the 22nd amendment if they wanted to and allow infinite terms.

I think it is much more likely he'd resign before the House would ever have the chance to move forward with the impeachment process. And it would also need to be something unbelievably egregious for the GOP to move against him.  He'll step away to make it look like he is leaving on his own terms.

"The Wall is in the process of being approved and I killed Obamacare.  My work here is done"  :trumps

I'll say he is out of office before 2019 and leaves on his "own terms" aka enough scandals pile up that he was forced to walk away.

No open limo, I suspect, but it's possible, with his disregard for security and intelligence processes, that an enraged liberal (or former Affordable Health Care benefiter) will kill him.

He'll complete his first term, run again, and lose.  He may have won the official mandate, but he doesn't have it in the eyes of the voting public who chose Clinton by nearly 3 million.  His already low approval rating is going sink to cellar depths once the economy takes a hit.

I'll try to remember to bump this thread on November 3, 2020.

I had the same fear when Cheney was VP. The Shrub was horrible, but Cheney in the POTUS chair is even worse.

Sure, Pence is worrisome; the only hope about him is his professed God-fearing-ness. Normally I'd abhor that, but if he's actually a good Christian he'll hopefully act within his conscience. That's unlikely though, as judgement of others seems a common MO for him.

You likely made these posts in jest, but it's worth stating Pence never endorsed electroshock conversion therapy for gay people.

These are his actual views.

Quote from: Time
He opposed a law that would prohibit discrimination against LGBT people in the workplace
...
He opposed the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell
...
He rejected the Obama administration directive on transgender bathrooms

It's very easy to make a case for his shittiness without resorting to making stuff up.

Republicans are going to lose at least 10 governorships in 2017-18.
There's too many incumbents and leaving low popularity governors for it to be on par with the 1994 massacre as the largest beating of all time. I mean, it's a midterm for one.

Scott, Brownback, LePage, and Snyder are giving their parties a boost by being term-limited out. Remember, they were supposed to go down in 2014 with their Senate colleagues and the GOP held the board.

Even 2006 only nabbed six for the Democrats, half of which were Massachusetts, Maryland and New York. They only picked up one more in 2008. Two of those are seats up again in 2018 but they have the advantage of spending a year or more running against/away from Trump/Washington along with state Democrats instead of their TBD Democratic opponent, the swing back will be way easier with Trump rather than a regular Republican. Especially since they have like 65+% approval and neither got on board with Trump.

Yeah, his shit WILL crash the economy but it's a question of how long it'll take for the negative effects to kick in, we could be on the upswing in '20 still.

I disagree completely. There will be no impeachment because he'll never take office. IC knows Trump is a fraud. His real name isn't even Trump. It's Drumpf. And then go on from there that he and his allies are Russian agents.

The IC will never allow him to be Commander-In-Chief. Not for a second. We'll find out soon enough.

Sickness: He is old, has the temper of a spoiled 8 year old and his new job is one of the mos stressful of the world (and somehow he still wants to keep taps on his own company). He knows that GOP only cares about the people he can rally on as he would have been kicked out otherwise (that's why he hates Paul Ryan guts) and he never will get the respect he thinks that he deserves.

Is still a low possibility as he has shown to be stubborn as fuck to just die by sickness.

I thought that either way, the next president would be a one term president and then there'd be a massive correction. However, the left is not responding as quickly as they should to having a self-questioning session. The DNC doesn't seem to have any plan or true prospects either. And the right loves all the seats their winning so why question the beast?

So I'm now leaning towards two terms.

It's been two months and they haven't even reached across the isle to help roll back Roe v Wade, so they're clearly not ready to get serious about addressing the economic concerns of middle America. :trumps

We're going the full 8. Look at the candidates the Democrats have lined up in the next few years :rofl

We have no idea who's going to run, but with the bullshit he's already pulling he should lose easily to any Democrat, so long as the far left doesn't self-immolate again.

Hillary Clinton would beat him easily today if we had a re-vote.
Fucking NO, go away forever Hillary.

yeah, my prediction now is that he and the Republican establishment will cut a deal within the next few months. He'll resign, but will blame the media and won't admit to really doing anything wrong; Pence and the Rs will agree to go along with this and treat him as a martyr in hopes that they'll retain support from Trump's fanbase (who will take on a cognitive dissonance burden but not really any more than they've already borne). Trump will go off to do rallies and right-wing/fringe media fuckery full-time.

tbh this is in some ways a worse prospect than the current situation.

just after posting that I see this from the "Art of the Deal" ghostwriter: http://www.mediaite.com/online/art-of-the-deal-ghostwriter-trump-has-to-figure-out-a-way-to-resign/

Quote
I surely believe that at some point over the next period of time he’s going to have to figure out a way to resign and the reason he’s going to do that as opposed to go through what could be an impeachment process, or a continuing humiliation, is that he wants to figure out a way — as he’s done all his career — to turn a loss into a victory.

And so he will declare victory when he leaves.

I still think he's too much of a megalomaniac and narcissist to not run for re-election. He has to at least match what Reagan/Clinton/W/Obama accomplished in terms of winning twice.

Only way he resigns is if he has no choice, ie impeachment/criminal charges.

More fuckery than most were probably anticipating.

I was in the "impeached within a year" camp but while there's all the smoke, and more, for that... The total lack of shame by Republicans in Parliament lets me think he will get away with a lot.

For all of the constant scandals that may ultimately bury him, the whole "an outrage a day keeps the old affairs away" is somewhat working. A lot of fuss was made of emoluments, nepotism, divestment and tax returns but he got it all through.
