By sheer coincidence, poly saw a woman make a post on facebook where she described an unwanted encounter with Tyler Malka. He made screenshots, distributed the images, and then three days later they started filtering their way on to neogaf. A few mods resigned/were banned and a few users were scrubbed from the site entirely (backslashbunny's account was renamed and all of her posts removed). This gave the woman's account more plausibility (members see mods resigning, so they think there might be some fire to go with that smoke) and people began asking WTF was going on. Initially, these threads were shut, so people began discussing Evilore's alleged sexual assault in other threads. Some of these other threads were locked, but one by one the mods began to resign and those who remained didn't seem interested in covering up for Evilore anymore. We're now at the point where the entire forum is in open rebellion. Multiple people, including myself, have posted images detailing Evilore's European sexual exploits as well as his decision to leak olimario's gf's nudes. No one's getting banned (although I'm sure I will be if the forum survive). All admins except one have resigned. Around 10 mods have officially resigned, but I've heard an additional 3 - 4 are also done with GAF... but there's no one left to remove them so their names remain on the staff page.
Gaf is better than this, despite all that has happened. I still want to believe that things can go back to normal somehow ...

Why is the outside opinion of gaf seemingly so bad?
Salty banned users and gamergate types who hate that users and mods here are more accepting and open to treating people like people no matter what they look like or their gender or sexuality.
Salt over getting banned and gamergate/right wing types that can't handle people who have liberal views, especially when it's a large concentration of people with said views.
The site took a no tolerance stance on Gamergaters and their shitty harassment campaign. Gamergate is now celebrating
most of them were previously banned users. A lot of the outrage seems to be coming from gamergaters as well.
It's a shame that other forums seemingly welcome their bullshit with open arms. End of an era. GAF was truly special.
