There's no nazis here. There were hardly any in Florida for that Spencer event. The auditorium for his speech was full of empty seats. I'd give maybe 10-15 dumb racist rednecks showing up. There was one actual nazi who showed up with a swastika shrit, was then surrounded by a horde of news cameras hoping to see the angry mob start something with him.

We have a supply and demand problem with nazis. Everyone wants everything to be a nazi, but we simply don't have enough of them to fill that order. So idiots pretend other groups are nazis. Gamergate, nerds, fans, Bernie voters, Republicans, NFL fans, etc.

Just look at the type of interactions and company that were worth his time all the way back then.

As much as this whole ordeal is about Malka, it's clear the greater story for people is the OT culture dissolving. There's a bifurcation of people distraught over losing the OT, and relived that the mass exodus means they can take their community elsewhere where the culture is less volatile. It's ironic that retribution heavy culture that stemmed from Evilore's insecurities and need to stifle those that would little him, has now come back to bite him by a horde of mods acting in solidarity against Malka after years of kowtowing to him. It's further ironic that the people who wanted to get away from OT moderation but never would because of the community momentum of gaf, get to do so now because the mods first have left; Conversely, those that clung to the OT to it's final days are now finding refuge in forums populated by user's who have specifically fled gaf's culture and moderation.

Back in 2012, there was that Real Pic GAF thread, which led to a lot of people actually having meetups in their cities. LA-GAF had a couple get-togethers  that were successful enough that we started planning a big one. So we made plans to meet in Hollywood, and about 25 or 30 people were supposed to attend. Then Tyler posted the airplane pic in our meetup thread, and everyone was like, "Oh shit."

 So we had the bar night, and Tyler actually did show up. There were a bunch of people there, including a few female posters who I won't name here, but you probably know them. Tyler seem to be trying to hit it off with one of them. His intentions were just ambiguous enough to fly under the radar, but as a dude I'm pretty sure I could recognize him working game. I'm not sure if the female poster in question was interested at the time. Tyler ended up staying in LA for like a week, and there were several different meet ups during that time.

There was another guy there named James. James also apparently had a thing for this female poster. I guess one night he sent her some drunk texts, and she mentioned this to Evilore, and Tyler straight up nuked this guy's account.

I talked to her like a year later, and she told me she wasn't even too upset with the guy's texts, and was way more upset with the possessiveness that Tyler demonstrated in nuking his account, and making a whole dramatic scene on the forum.

I remember this. That was White Knight Tyler, and I remember the guy saying that Evilore was doing it cuz he wanted in on the girl.

But then she says that the mention of carne asada fries made her hungry. He misinterprets this as a sign of interest and doubles down on the approach. She deflects this and effectively ends the conversation by saying she's going to sleep. Eight minutes ago she couldn't sleep, so this is a pretty clear sign.

At this point he's tried to schedule a one on one meetup three separate times (being pretty sneaky about it), and he's been rebuffed each time. I guess there's a tiny chance that he could have made something work, but in my experience, this is the time to move on. I wouldn't text her again at this point for at least a few days. If I were interested in having her as a friend, I'd go that route.

Back in 2012, there was that Real Pic GAF thread, which led to a lot of people actually having meetups in their cities. LA-GAF had a couple get-togethers  that were successful enough that we started planning a big one. So we made plans to meet in Hollywood, and about 25 or 30 people were supposed to attend. Then Tyler posted the airplane pic in our meetup thread, and everyone was like, "Oh shit."

 So we had the bar night, and Tyler actually did show up. There were a bunch of people there, including a few female posters who I won't name here, but you probably know them. Tyler seem to be trying to hit it off with one of them. His intentions were just ambiguous enough to fly under the radar, but as a dude I'm pretty sure I could recognize him working game. I'm not sure if the female poster in question was interested at the time. Tyler ended up staying in LA for like a week, and there were several different meet ups during that time.

There was another guy there named James. James also apparently had a thing for this female poster. I guess one night he sent her some drunk texts, and she mentioned this to Evilore, and Tyler straight up nuked this guy's account, and there was some serious forum drama over it.

I talked to her like a year later, and she told me she wasn't even too upset with the guy's texts, and was way more upset with the possessiveness that Tyler demonstrated in nuking his account, and making a whole dramatic scene on the forum.

He was trying to get with any female poster during those meetups. The one you're talking about had Tyler think he was "dating" her for like 2 weeks.

I've spent very little time here, but from all the threads I've read through trying to get a feel and vibe for the place it seems rad. I don't want GAF 2.0, I think few of us would, it had huge issues, but it did have many strengths in its community too. Personally I just want a nice place on the internet to talk about our passions, hate on our passions and just be free from any far right nonsense or any excessive pro gamergate shit (its specifically the harassment/spiteful part of that "movement" that i'm trying to avoid, not sensible discourse). The Bore seems pretty rad, theres no fear of it being GAF 2.0 even if some of its members find refuge here.

it's cool. i don't want anything that it doesn't want to be. it was just a sort of blank statement like "hey this could grow" but if that's not what it wants to be whatever.

i don't give a flying fuck about gaf or anything about it other than i enjoyed engaging with devs and despite reddit/twitter they did engage on frequently on gaf more intensely than other places for a period of time there.

I was mostly a lurker on gaf. I probably had a few hundred posts over 3 or 4 years. I had to avoid any discussion involving politics or social justice due to the hive mind echo chamber nature like a lot of people.

I'll miss reading video games discussion in a good hearted way with no dog piling as rare as it was. Recently I was just following posts in the wwe2k18 thread talking about how broken and hilarious it is along with the threads about the SNES classic preorder shitshow and then the one about how to hack the snes classic which people were supplying custom box art and borders for.

Anyway, I really just wanted to ask if it's not too much trouble if people posting links to threads on gaf could also post a screenshot because the site is still down for me and probably a lot of lurking guests.
