Vol.2 being anything but great (incredible for me) is a myth, that album is non-stop bangers and well written rapping.

MCHG is above them because it's possible to play through.

I was mostly a lurker on gaf. I probably had a few hundred posts over 3 or 4 years. I had to avoid any discussion involving politics or social justice due to the hive mind echo chamber nature like a lot of people.

I'll miss reading video games discussion in a good hearted way with no dog piling as rare as it was. Recently I was just following posts in the wwe2k18 thread talking about how broken and hilarious it is along with the threads about the SNES classic preorder shitshow and then the one about how to hack the snes classic which people were supplying custom box art and borders for.

Anyway, I really just wanted to ask if it's not too much trouble if people posting links to threads on gaf could also post a screenshot because the site is still down for me and probably a lot of lurking guests.

The thing is: I can count maybe 6-7 developers that posted on GAF off the top of my head. Of those, only like 2 stuck around. And there have been journalists that post there, but a lot ignored it.

Cliffy's tweet is apt: Since like 2013 or so, a lot of developers and the industry actively loathed GAF. Twitter replaced that sort of "insider talk" if you know the right folks.

It's kinda funny that NeoGAF moderators thought that they could contain the problem by just banning people and deleting posts, in this day and age.  News flash, dudes: the people you banned are just going to take it to social media or a popular blog, and the problem will only be much worse since now it looks like you were trying to stamp out the truth.

That's how they've always done things.

I think I racked up two bans for bumping week old threads by BuddyC back in the day. Banning has always, been their one and only method of communication. What's funny is they thought they could keep getting away with it. Demodding Scarlet for that dumb ass reason. The way they got rid of Hito, someone who was Evi's right hand for years. That one time last year when we were having a heated, albeit civil, discussion about race in America and they banned Kinitari just because he disagreed. Perma banning Fistful because he admitted to using adblock. We story after story, year after year, of sheer incompetence. They pretended like people who have a problem with the site were niche assholes in some distant corner of the internet when they were even within their own house as well, as we can see by OT's current state. This is how Neogaf has always operated. Ban without remorse, even during the Gaming Age era. Fucking ban and delete Anti-Monitor because she dare have a problem with what Evi did and call him out on it.

They did it because it's always worked: just put a sock in it, and cut out anyone who disagrees, even if it's related to the owner being a creep. Even if it's related to a high profile member being thrown in jail and convicted of child porn on a site that accepts under aged users. Brush it under the rug.

They thought this time is no different. "It'll blow over and we'll ban anyone who gets in the way." Because that's all they've ever relied upon: pure control. And yet somehow thought that people wouldn't remember over the period 10+ years, of the sites ridiculous policies.

That 500 guests proves them wrong. Neogaf has and had many enemies, and if not that people who just flat out thought the place was only worth trolling - so basically they didn't think anything of it at all. They thought they could sweep it under the rug this one last time. They were delusional to think their site was even remotely sustainable.

Back in 2012, there was that Real Pic GAF thread, which led to a lot of people actually having meetups in their cities. LA-GAF had a couple get-togethers  that were successful enough that we started planning a big one. So we made plans to meet in Hollywood, and about 25 or 30 people were supposed to attend. Then Tyler posted the airplane pic in our meetup thread, and everyone was like, "Oh shit."

 So we had the bar night, and Tyler actually did show up. There were a bunch of people there, including a few female posters who I won't name here, but you probably know them. Tyler seem to be trying to hit it off with one of them. His intentions were just ambiguous enough to fly under the radar, but as a dude I'm pretty sure I could recognize him working game. I'm not sure if the female poster in question was interested at the time. Tyler ended up staying in LA for like a week, and there were several different meet ups during that time.

There was another guy there named James. James also apparently had a thing for this female poster. I guess one night he sent her some drunk texts, and she mentioned this to Evilore, and Tyler straight up nuked this guy's account, and there was some serious forum drama over it.

I talked to her like a year later, and she told me she wasn't even too upset with the guy's texts, and was way more upset with the possessiveness that Tyler demonstrated in nuking his account, and making a whole dramatic scene on the forum.

Interesting. I'm pretty sure there was another woman who rebuffed Evilore whose account was later terminated.

He'll have to find another way to make a living now, which should be easy for such a skilled and employable individual like himself.
