Came here just to follow and maybe discuss the news until the storm blows over. Never got too involved with the discussions surrounding Gaf's site culture. Never had much trouble getting along by its rules. Well... I did have an earlier account (same name and avatar as this one) that got banned while still in Junior phase, because I tried making a joke that emulated a bad youtube comment, but I guess I didn't make it clear enough and I came across as just looking like an asshole. So when I made my second account, I avoided so much as casual swearing, and thought twice before making a chancy joke or post. Honestly felt like I was a more constructive member for it, so I never harbored any sort of a grudge against the site staff.
Of course, if this allegation rings true--and it certainly hits a lot of probable notes--EvilLore and those complicit in defending him knowingly can fuck right off. I wouldn't be against returning if leadership changes, though if the whole thing just goes belly-up, I wouldn't resent that either. Probably better to just let it go, and find something more productive to do with my time.
So yeah, probably just here for a bit. Don't think the site format here suits me in the long term. I like being able to have thread subscriptions, so I can easily keep tabs on lower-activity topics without having to run a search each time, and--in conjunction with that--I liked having individual community threads for each game release (as long as there was someone who bothered making a topic), movies, TV shows, albums, etc. It was a nicely organized way to find like-minded folks who wanted to talk about a particular thing.
