He probably would have come through relatively unacathed. A few members might have kicked off a bit, but overall a statement along the lines of "I misread the situation, I'm truly sorry and it won't happen again" would have been just about enough. If then this new information broke about the consensual relationship between Tyler and the woman had come out it would have put him almost in the clear.

It's hilarious that his usual tactic of banning, locking and deleting has backfired on him so badly when all it would have taken is a few lines and a fake apology.

People would have thought even less of him than they did at the time, and he would have had to lay low and stay out of the public light for a long while, but if he'd gotten out in front of it and apologized and even pointed out that they had some sort of relationship after the incident, less damage would have been done for sure. I'm not sure if it was cowardice or arrogance, but either way locking shit up tight and hiding is what took his shit down to the ground.
