Coates has always written for white people, trying his hardest to impress them with his tortured prose and self-pitying observations on race. I bought 'Between The World and Me,' but couldn't finish it because of how pretentious and hollow it is.

After "lived experience", "I don't feel safe" is quickly becoming the most useless phrase in modern lexicon. It states nothing, it doesn't deal with whether or not the fears are justified and puts all the importance on the person saying it. No one gives a shit if you "feel" safe. God it reminds me of the day after the election where a facebook friend of mine said he was going to hide under his bed because he thought Trump was going to send people after him, and he was being serious. I have read that "GirlGAF" recently grew disillusioned and bitter with the management / Lore. backslashbunny was part of that "GirlGAF AMA" right ? Bish was reacting that way way before Trump came into the picture. I get black struggles and the feeling of inadequacy for them. But when you openly endorse "fuck white people/I want to kill them" (like that one BCT poster makes), why the fuck would you wonder that white people are distrustful of black folks or not supporting the movement?

BLM failed because of the open hostility toward anyone that was "yeah, I agree with you but I'm not gonna march with you"-level.

That's not to mention that Bish was a power-tripping egotistical bitch that would "lawn mower" threads because he somehow got up on the wrong side of the bed that morning and didn't think actual discussion should be allowed in certain topics (read: race, generally). Then would get off on the BishBanned.gif's in a "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?" way.

I'll give you he gave you the ability to back off ("you want to explain that?") before banning you. But he was far from a reasonable mod.
