I gotta say though. They're kinda pathetic in that they had a chance to reset GAF and decided to just copy gafs entire motif in gaming, gaming community, off topic, off topic community. It's wack and that set up been old hat for years. If they were smart, once they get enough users, they'd make a sports forum, a politics forum, a gaming troll forum for people to get that out of their system and ban anyone who makes trolls or system warz in the main gaming forum. But they won't. Because they're gaffers and gaffers never learn.
Nah minalism for forum boards is ideal. Board of the past used to have that shit, but it just ended up in wasted space and half the board being inactive or semi-active.
edit: can i just say dont ever change the style here kthx
We have no reason to change our style.

We're small. We like it that way. Two boards style works with small forums. But as neogaf showed the larger a forum gets, the more closed off people are the more catty they get, because you're forced to share the same space as other people.

And now everyone is packed in like a can of sardines.
Something Awful shows that having niches for forums not only breeds better discussion, but also less shit posting because you know you need to stay in your lane.
I am of the opinion that being self contained forced gaf to radicalize. When there is no left, right, or down the only other way is to go up.
Basically, neogaf did not meet the requirements of its growing board. Hence why staff had to moderate entire threads and couldn't possibly keep up. What's easier on the staff? Having multiple sub forums with its own cliques and rules or self contained areas where everyone is under the same rule? In no way would a Sports forum be forced to follow the same rules as the rest of gaf because that entire forum would be deemed more loose and relaxed by default.
Basically, this is another example of Neogaf falling to EviLore and its staff own inherent mix of laziness and nostalgia rather than meeting the demands their forum needed.
