All the advertising has made the game seem way more arcadey, more akin to Doom 2016 than the previous Wolfenstein games where you definitely couldn't run and gun as much as these trailers imply.

DOOM is DOOM.. you see a number after the word DOOM? nope? not a sequel. it wasn't marketed as Doom 4 or a sequel but a reboot..
now look at Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus.. you see that number after the world WOLFENSTEIN? Sequel.

wtf?

they should announce a multiplayer mode

and it only has one mode

the underground has to convince the Nazi's to renounce their ways and join their side through the power of words

i'm sure somebody has already made this joke

also there was a garry's mod "nazi occupation" role play server like the prison role playing ones i was on once because i was like what the fuck is this when i saw it in the mode list, but anyway the best part was if you were the banker you could print money and wreck the economy which got me a 24 hour ban, but anyway back to my story this one time, before i got banned for flooding the market with money because i had setup printers in the underground sewers and then swapped to different statuses collected the money and filtered it back into the economy, but the point of my story is this time was where the fuhrer (who was randomly selected after the prior one was killed) was messing up their role playing in some manner i forget, he wasn't following the server rules which were like six pages long and shit, so the rebels and nazis and "normal" people (banker/shopkeeps/etc.) gathered (VOIP and even text chat worked in a manner in which it was only visible/able to be heard at semi-realistic distances) and when the fuhrer rejected a referendum request the guards moved the barracades and let us storm and loot the HQ and kill him

so basically what i'm saying is that garry's mod is pretty insane

spoiler (click to show/hide)
i still haven't played the last one, and only like a third of the 2009 one which i don't think you can get anymore digitally? :doge

I blame the lack of WW2 games and the rise of the Hitler youth hair cut.

whats with the american tradition of games releasing on Tuesdays anyway? shit makes no sense when most people work monday-friday.

Got Friday off work anyway so that's a whole weekend for wolf 2 and Mario for me.

iirc, it was mainly a music industry thing. You get more days to count towards first week sales numbers and you give retailers the whole weekend to stock your product. Yes, it's incredibly outdated which is why the Friday thing is more common now.

I wonder if this is the game part itself or bloated due to pre-rendered cutscenes. Never played TNO so not sure if it used pre-rendered cutscenes. It's amazing how small some games become without them.

I'm really curious if this game will continue down the lines TNO did with some semi "open" areas and be more of a Riddick successor because of it. I recall everyone went nuts for that prison section in TNO because it evoked a lot of the same designs from Riddick but I didn't really find it all that interesting.
