Theres no other way. It's clear no other solution has worked and minorities are still non-existent in tech industries. Time to go nuclear and hurt feelings. Emerald's content, and especially the endgame, was so good that I got salty about Gen 4 on release.

 But Gen 4 was great, little did I know that would be the last gen to have decent difficulty.

 Edit: Actually, I skipped Black and White and just rented those for a few days, no idea how they played.

Gen 5 was great. Really dug the back-to-basics approach and it felt super fresh. XY were a big step back IMO.

Sun and Moon are fantastic though. In fact they feel very similar to Gen 5.

The irony here is I'm not even a religious person. I just like history. And I made a very valid statement on the impact that one religious text ( that appropriates stories from many older religious texts) on society and its important to have a thorough understanding of this context if you seek to engage the wider world. What I got was a lot of dismissive angst instead.

You got excelsior and the rest of Ree saying it's bullshit when somebody says the actions of someone who calls themselves a christian aren't consistent with christian values, but I remember a whole lot of excuses being made for real nutjobs saying and doing nasty things in the name of Black Lives Matter.  That's not to say BLM needed to somehow be held accountable.  Just pick one or the other.  Either everybody who says they speak for a group can be said to represent that group (and thus there might be some culpability), or some people are just nuts and/or hateful and we don't have to attribute their behavior to the group.

Gen5 was solid for the gameplay improvements (TM's being infinite use) alone. Unova as a region is kinda bad, though. It's basically a line and then a circle/loop. I didn't care for the "press up to journey"/linear quest like FF10.

It's the last one before they went from sprites to 3D models, so it'll hold a spot in my heart for that reason alone. Plus it gave us Scrafty.

I didn't get into X/Y much, and I finished Sun/Moon, but never bothered to actually complete the dex in that.

I skipped from RB to Diamond so that was a big shellshock when I realized the rivals became toothless.  However I also played the remake of Ruby and thought it was the best out of all the games, and that was the start of the friendly rivals.  Really liked the drawn out threat at the end which other games had mostly dropped the ball on.

While I know you're joking, when GAF blew up late last year, it was a wakeup call for me.  While I enjoy online communities, the fact that posters were referred to as refugees and orphans looking for a home was something that got me thinking.  Are people, including myself, that involved in text only community that much? This can't be right?

Then I looked at all the years I wasted on GAF. It was basically for nothing.  And now with Old GAF and now ERA taking its place, it's mostly just people arguing online for hours, days, weeks, and years.  After a while, you need to ask yourself, is this what I want to spend my life doing?  I'm glad the blowup happened looking back.  Even though I wasn't a prolific poster on OldGAF, I mostly lurked.  But I'm reading and actually playing games way more these days at least.

Also, it's not like most of the posters on ERA are magnetic people. They can't take a joke. They're awfully wound up. They're hostile to any major disagreement.  I'm not really seeing the "community", just like OldGAF.
