What exactly have you done to help progressive democrats win in the US? Have you volunteered for phone banks? Traveled to different states to door knock? Helped raise any money for canidates? If I can do it all across the US from here in Ohio surely a person this invested in the sanctity of US politics has done something other than post ITT telling Americans how they should feel about one of their Senators.

“I don’t like many forums” is one of many reasons gaf went the way it did in the end. When you have less forums you all have to deal with one another. And not everyone jives with each other. Having two forums (ok, four technically) for thousands and thousands of users is inadequate. That worked for gaf back in the day (gaming age to Neo era) because it large but small enough to be tight knit. After that you’re playing outdated games and refuse to adapt.

The problem is that probably 80% of PoliEra posts are made by like 20 people, and the topics change constantly. Noteworthy developments should absolutely get their own threads. People who aren't regulars in the main thread shouldn't have to read a bunch of pages every day to get the news.

Especially in the age of Trump where every week brings as many stories as you'd get over several months in the Obama administration.

I always hated the gaf/era rhetoric of "if someone is complaining that our behavior is a turnoff, they were never an ally to begin with, and are probably disingenuously pretending they used to be one.  Everyone keep acting the way you are acting, saying what you're saying, if we're upsetting them we're on the right track!"

Like no actually it is very possible for someone who is thoroughly on your side to walk away in disgust
