optimus. i think it's more of an issue with people today, social media, and the entitlement they think they have. then we see the symptoms of this issue expressed differently based on people's shitty values. with what we're seeing of some people on the left, it's cheering a death of some guy because at one point he hopped on the "ethics" narrative of the gamergate event before eventually condemning the movement.
with bain, it was sending large droves of people to harass and ostracize people he thought deserved it. even months before his death he did it to some guy for making a transphobic joke at some convention he was holding.
it's still really sad that he died so young, robbed of a chance to grow old and mature as a person, to look at his failings and wrongdoings and change, to watch his children grow and learn to empathize more with others. and it hurts to think about how all his fans, people who respected and admired him, who felt like they were connected to him, had to watch as he slowly died from cancer.
