I mean, the whole "women are complicated and we can never know how they work" really is a harmful media stereotype.
It's not a stereotype. It's as old as time, even before "media" existed.
We are hard-wired to understand other men better because it was more advantageous for us when it came time for hunting/gathering. Also, when it came time to compete for mates. There have been psychological studies on this topic.
Even today, in most societies, when there are large gatherings of people (strangers or even large families) we naturally gravitate towards the same sex to communicate.
Yeah I was gonna say...I mean, I don't know the science of it or what kind of studies have been done, but I would not be surprised if it turned out that men and women think about things differently, on average
And that it would not be completely off base for men to bemoan lack of understanding for things they don't understand
Plus there is a ton of advice out there for women by women along the lines of "how to get in his head / how to keep him guessing" that is like opposite PUA shit that might contribute to confusing the shit out of guys
Leading them to try to find out
