I'm going to speculate someone is setting up a fresh installation. They just moved the PHP files into place, but their PHP-FPM service is broken, which explains the 404 followed by a 503. Why setup a fresh installation? I noticed NeoGAF behaving intermittently, perhaps they're migrating to a new server. It should be more graceful than this if it's not an emergency, hopefully they have DB backups.

I checked robots.txt when it was 404, which also 404'd. Now it presents a valid file, which adds to the idea they're just setting up PHP right now: https://www.neogaf.com/robots.txt

Let's look at Pachter's claim.

Pachter says the Switch is tracking to sell 8 million this year.

Last quarter Nintendo sold 1.88 million.
Summer months are usually a bit slower for gaming hardware.
The end of the year will see a slight uptake but Nintendo's biggest sellers (Pokemon / Smash Bros) won't hit until November/December.

I'd say he's right on the money. Much closer than the 20 million figure they're throwing around
