The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the more interesting political topics in the US, because supporters of each are not clearly divided along political lines like other issues. The Right generally supports Israel, but the far Right and alt-Right often hold anti-Semitic views, so many on the far Right are anti-Israel. But those same people also hate Muslims. On the other hand, a lot of the Left is pro-Palestine, but also pro-Jew. And they're pro-Jew and pro-Muslim, who often hate each other, especially in the Middle East. Then you've got a far Left board like Era that is pro-Palestine, but they're not allowed to use Nazi comparisons because that would be inflammatory against Jews, who are historically some of the ultimate victims.

It's just this hodgepodge of allegiances and prejudices that melts into a big pot of cognitive dissonance, for most of the people with the most passionate views.

The frustrating part of this, for me, has to do with how transparency was very highly talked about back when we were in transition from the other place to here. I remember sitting in Discord chatting with everyone else and I thought transparency was one of the BIG things that everyone was talking about and being highly promised from those who were working to create the new site. I could be wrong in this aspect but that's how I thought it was: that the admin team would do everything they could to make decision as transparent as possible which is part of the reason behind mod decisions being shown on posts, etc.

Now, maybe I took that to mean something that wasn't in fact correct but I thought it meant that decisions on the forum would be put out to the community when stuff would be changed. But maybe in fact it just meant that we'd know the reasons behind the the decisions and not necessarily be able to actively partake in them, prominent or not.

I know that people will say that asking the masses what they want might not be the way to go but stuff like this really needs to get as much input as possible since it can affect so many. That's the frustrating part here because if transparency is to be done like I initially thought, it's clearly not enough time for people to discuss it and then have the changes put into effect. As it stands, we're basically just being told what's going on kinda left in the dark and just forced to accept it and move forward. I think we all want a voice, and I don't think it's too much to ask.
 

ERA was formed from the worst aspects of GAF in concentrated form. I don't know why these people are just now realizing the admin are arrogant, tone deaf, and generally full of shit. That exactly how GAF's admin was before its implosion.

With these changes and the Israeli-Nazi thing, Cerium is really pissing off the community. Will they suck it up and stick around, or will we start seeing an attempt at splinter forums?
