MJ hasn’t really been a major part of the spider books for like 10 years is probably why.
IMO they should have replaced her with Carlie in the games 
Was still a pretty big part of the Spider-Man books (and then Iron Man for a bit), plus nobody knows who Carlie (long-gone from the comics) is.
The comic nerd in me really wants to know if Miles will be Spider-Man in this game and if Captain Watanabe pops up under her vigilante Wraith alias.

I disagree about MJ though... she has been in Iron Man in her not-Pepper Potts role, but in the last few years of Spider-Man she hasn’t been a major part of the books again until pretty recently (IMO).
Very recently she has kind of come back into the books in a major way but that’s really only a few months old to maybe a year old if you want to get generous and say it started when she put on the iron spider armor. For that

But before that she had some side shit in like 2010 where she was jealous of Carlie, got spider power during spider island like 6 or 7 years ago, and then basically disappeared from the books for a few years after buying a night club.
Then was brought back for superior Spider-Man for one or two issues that only had impact because she and Peter were once married. Then became an iron man character, then was slowly brought back in to be Peters girlfriend again over the last year or so. But the majority of time from OMD to now, she was sort of like Betty Brant level of exposure, like “I acknowledge that this character exists in some way, but is really only on a couple of pages every few months”
